My name is Dan Hogfelt; I am 38 years old and I have been living in Phuket since 2003. After two years as a scuba diving instructor I started teaching English at one of the local high schools. My first ever lesson was a disaster and I hated it. After a week or so I found my rhythm and teaching really grew on me, I have enjoyed it ever since. After 12 years of teaching at Phuket Wittayalai School, Kajonkietsuksa- and Kajonkiet International School I decided that I wanted a year without the responsibilities of paperwork and reports etc., so I signed on as a substitute teacher at Headstart. I am very impressed with the facilities and the staff at Headstart and I feel lucky to be part of what it has to offer students and teachers. Throughout various times in my career I have acquired the following qualifications: PGCEi, University of Nottingham MBA, Linneaus University BSc Business Administration, Linneaus University ASCTA, Bronze Level Swimming Coach TEFL, TEFL international I truly enjoy living and working here in Phuket. In my opinion Phuket has it all: beautiful beaches, busy markets, good food, lots of entertainment and a proximity to a variety of sport climbing spots that I enjoy on long weekends and holidays. In my free time I enjoy swimming, badminton, football, jogging, reading and watching movies.
