I am Joel Adams, drama teacher. I studied theatre arts (acting and directing) at Baylor University in the USA. I love theatre and believe learning to act benefits young people in a multitude of social and professional skills whether they continue to act or not. I love to impart the love of theatre and the arts to young minds, love to see them develop the confidence, empathy, love for words, and psychological understanding that theatre teaches them. Through the years I have been involved in teaching and performing theatre off and on, but since the early 2000s I have majored in teaching, directing and performing plays and acting. I have been active in conventional theatre, improvisation, forum theatre, mime, classical and modern theatre, experimental work, voiceover and dubbing, and movies and TV. I count it a privilege to be part of the HeadStart Creative and Performing Arts team and have had the thrilling experience of being involved with all the plays produced here from 2014 till today. I have also taught 9 terms each of primary and secondary drama ASPs leading to many final presentations with the students. I look forward to more years of helping young people perform great theatre.
