I originate from England and have been teaching young children the British National Curriculum and British Early Years Curriculum in the UK and at HeadStart for the past 5 years. My qualifications consist of two degrees, a Master’s Degree in Criminology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Criminology. This was followed by a PGCE in Primary Education focusing on the KS1 and KS2 British curriculum. I have over twenty years’ experience in the field of industry and believe that many of these attributes have been reassigned into the classroom environment. Teaching in an English School is fast paced and challenging and I have gained extensive experience with the teaching of synthetic phonics and value the importance of this programme in order to give children a secure foundation to understand the complexities of the English language. Working within the British curriculum has also given me the opportunity to teach lessons within the Creative Learning Journey. This has provided me with opportunities to provide innovative, cross curricular objectives which aim to motivate the children, raise self-esteem and increase knowledge and understanding of the world, through rich conceptualised learning. I feel passionate about creative teaching and learning having seen the benefits that are produced and how learning has been accelerated. I consider myself to be a friendly, approachable, kind and compassionate person, but can present myself as firm but fair when the occasion is called for. I freely communicate with parents as I view our relationship as essential in order to ensure that each child is happy, secure and progressing within the learning environment – my door is always open. I enjoy being part of the HeadStart team and look forward to the new academic year of learning and building a relationship with you and your children.
