Year 5 Blue
My name is Lindsay Williams and this will be my second year teaching at HeadStart. In 2005 I completed a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education and for 11 years I worked as a teacher in London, England, both in KS1 and KS2. Before this I lived in a small town called Barrow-In-Furness in the Lake District. I have a passion for travelling and have visited Thailand a number of times and in the summer of 2015 I travelled throughout the country. Since then, I made the decision to continue my teaching career here in Phuket where I can experience Thai culture and lifestyle while doing what I love – teaching. I recognise individuality and will strive to meet the needs of all students and ensure that each child knows they are valued members of my class. I am committed to creating a safe, challenging and positive learning environment. I believe it is important for students to develop skills working both independently and collaboratively and I provide a variety of opportunities for students to develop these skills. During my time in Thailand, I have enjoyed having the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and extend my social and academic skills to suit this. I am extremely excited for the new school year ahead at HeadStart teaching Year 5 Blue and getting to know pupils, parents, and teachers!
My name is Ayce Rico and I am from the Philippines; I have been living in Phuket since 2010. I am looking forward to my second year as a Deputy Teacher of Year 5 at HeadStart International School. I am very excited about this coming academic year. I have been working at HeadStart since 2011 and throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to work with students of a variety of ages and backgrounds which has enabled me to be flexible and efficient as a teacher. I’ve developed my passion in teaching through helping children engage in their educational experiences from a fun and creative perspective. I hope to encourage the children to enhance their development and also inspire in them a love of lifelong learning.
