Hello. My name is Hayley. I spent four months travelling around Thailand a few years ago and fell in love with the country as well as the people and this is one of the many reasons why I’m very excited to be joining the HeadStart family as an ICT teacher. I was born and raised in London, UK. I also studied in London completing a BA (Hons) degree in Business in 2015, followed by a subject knowledge course in Computing and then my PGCE in Computer Science. ICT and Computing has always been a subject of interest to me, as a teenager I’d spend many hours playing around on the computer, teaching myself how to use a range of software packages such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop as well as coding. This is one of the many reasons I chose to teach, I’m passionate in encouraging a culture of inspiration, enjoyment and creativity in ICT and Computing within my classroom. This isn’t my first international teaching role; I’ve also worked in Qatar in the Middle East. I really enjoy working in international schools as it’s great to have such a diverse range of nationalities and cultures in the classroom, it brings with it many different backgrounds and experiences and this can be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience for both the student and the teacher. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead at HeadStart and helping my students to achieve their very best in ICT.
