Year 1A

Hilary Goodridge

Hi there! My name is Hilary Goodridge and I’m from Newfoundland on the east coast of Canada. I graduated from Memorial University in Newfoundland in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Primary/Elementary Education.

During my studies, I discovered a program that sent four student teachers to Thailand to complete their teaching internship. I jumped at the opportunity to travel abroad and teach in another country and was fortunate enough to get accepted to spend four months last fall in Phuket teaching at the British International School. Working with students and teachers from all over the world was such an amazing experience. I knew I had to return to the ‘Land of Smiles’ and am thrilled to be the part of the HeadStart team as the new Year 1A teacher.

My love of teaching stems from love of watching students grow and progress and for me it is one of the most rewarding experiences in the world. I feel so lucky to have found something I truly enjoy doing! My passion for teaching allows me to create an environment that instils in each student alove of learning. When students want to learn, they will succeed!

I believe that a teacher’s role is to facilitate the growth of independence and confidence in each child, to where they are empowered to try their very best. I look forward to the journey this year with my students!
