Year 1B

My name is Megan Barnum and I am an American from the San Francisco Bay Area. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. I studied Education at National University and received a Primary Teaching Credential as well as a Secondary Teaching Credential in Social Science.

I came to Thailand to learn how to teach English as a Foreign Language. I loved living in Phuket and decided to stay and teach for the 2010-11 Thai school year. I taught English and Physical Education to students at a local Thai school.

I am very excited to teach Year 1B at HeadStart International School. My favourite aspect of teaching is the ability to guide students towards academic goals and help students gain confidence in their skills. I am not only excited about teaching students key stage curriculum but also about teaching them to be responsible, caring and courteous individuals. Teaching is a rewarding profession and I have chosen it because I enjoy the opportunity to watch students grow both academically and emotionally throughout the year.
