New HeadStart Construction Update
*Halloween Celebration News **by Miki Edouard, Events Manager*
On the 31st of October, 2014, HeadStart students enjoyed a fun dress up of an array of scary, funny and fantastic costumes. They were able to display their costumes at the Halloween Fashion Show and in the case of Secondary won prizes for the most original costume, scariest and best presented. Teachers made a hilarious display of wrapping a mummy and the teacher assistants prepared a fantastic dance medley for the students.

Foundation News
Our Caring Chef by Lisa Parsons, Preschool teacher
Chef Pornthep always takes special care to make sure the Preschoolers are enjoying the food at lunch time. He comes over and checks on us every day! Thank you Chef for your special care!
Reception Field Trip at Rubber Plantation
Reception are learning about materials so we went to a rubber plantation to see where rubber comes from. We watched how to extract the rubber from the rubber tree and we saw how the liquid rubber is mixed with other ingredients then poured into a mould to make objects. We each painted our own rubber toys and took them home. Now we know where rubber comes from!

Year 1 Computer Programming by Andrew Whittaker, Deputy Head of Foundation and Primary
The Year 1s have begun programming in their Computing lessons for the first time and they have all had lots of fun programming an Angry Bird to catch the pig by travelling through the maze.

**Secondary Test Timetable **
Year 7’s Visit the Senior Citizens Residential Home Carla Batt, Year 7 teacher
On Tuesday 4th November, students from Year 7 went to visit the Senior Citizens Residential Home in Paklok.
The residents were delighted to see our HeadStart students and were treated to performances of ‘Forever Young’ and the Thai national anthem. The students got into small groups and asked the residents questions about their lives. Two of our Thai students then sang a song in Thai. Students also bought crafts that had been made by the residents. As Year 7 left the residents than sang a beautiful song for us.

Thai Departments News
On the 6th November, HeadStart school celebrated the Loy Krathong Festival.
After the Flag Raising Ceremony, we enjoyed the Thai dances from Thai students and non-Thai students who worked very hard during their after school classes for this event. After the performances, students, teachers and parents, joined in the the Rum Wong (dance in a circle) on the football pitch. During the day the Thai teachers, students and parents made their Krathongs in Thai classes. Students and teachers also enjoyed many different kinds of Thai desserts at lunch time. A big thank you to the Thai parents who took time out of their busy schedules to help organise the event.

Thanyapura Super League Results by Steve Ketley, Swim Coach**
The Thanyapura Super League is a swimming competition conducted over 3 different legs scheduled throughout the year. Saturday, 1st of November, was the first leg and the AquaPanthers’ Swim Teams first competition for the season.
It was the ideal first competition for our swimmers and while all performed exceptionally well the following were our outstanding performers on the day, Vova Vladimirov (13-14 Boys), Qistina Elyssa (9-10 Girls), Jiraya Prieur (13-14 Girls), and Sam Stowe (7-8 Boys).
Congratulations to Daria Belous and Delia Baltes for competing in their first ever swimming competition and Zoe Wittmer for a great effort in her first swim for the AquaPanthers.
The following all deserve a special mention as they recorded personal bests in every swim over the week-end: Eve Whittaker (13 – 14 Girls), Kiki Ngernanek, Daria Belous and Delia Baltes (11 – 12 Girls), Qistina Elyssa, Anya Belova, Zoe Wittmer and Jasmine Hull (9 – 10 Girls), Sam Stowe (7-8 Boys).
A special thanks to Anna Hull who, though suffering from a knee injury, took her place in the relays rather than let her team mates down. Well done Anna.
The next event for our AquaPanthers’ swimmers will be the Bangkok Patana Feeding Frenzy over the weekend of 13/14 December. This is a big event with swimmers from all over Thailand and Asia. It will be a great event and a great experience for our swimmers.
BISP Soccer 7’s Football Tournament
On Friday & Saturday (7 & 8 November) our Under 11, Under 13 and Over 15 boys team will compete in the BISP Soccer 7s football tournament.

Thanyapura Triathlon Update
On the 29th of November Thanyapura will host a triathlon. Normally the HeadStart helps to facilitate students signing up, coaching and just being there to support. In this case we have had to change our plans as the 29th of November has been designated for the Staff Boat Trip.

เมื่อวันที่ 31 ตุลาคม 2557 ที่ผ่านมา นักเรียนร่วมสนุกสนานกับการแต่งชุดแฟนซีสยองขวัญ เด็กๆเข้าร่วมฮาโลวีนแฟชั่นโชว์กันเต็มที่ ส่วนนักเรียนมัธยมมีรางวัลให้สำหรับชุดที่ทำขึ้นไม่ซ้ำแบบใครมากที่สุด และชุดที่น่ากลัวที่สุด และชุดที่สวยที่สุด เหล่าครูๆก็ร่วมกิจกรรมแข่งกันเอากระดาษชำระมาห่อหุ้มตัวเป็นมัมมี่ ส่วนกลุ่มผู้ช่วยครูก็เต้นโชว์แบบประทับใจมาก

ขอขอบคุณเชฟพรเทพหัวหน้าพ่อครัวของเรา ที่ให้การเอาใจใส่ดูแลเด็กเตรียมอนุบาลเป็นพิเศษในช่วงเวลารับประทานอาหารกลางวันเป็นอย่างดีเสมอมา เชฟได้ออกมาคอยดูแลพวกเราทุกวัน ขอบคุณมากค่ะ

นักเรียนได้เรียนเรื่องวัตถุต่างๆ จึงได้ไปเยี่ยมชมศูนย์วิจัยยางเพื่อเรียนรู้เรื่องว่ายางมาจากไหน พวกเราได้ชมการกรีดยาง และผสมน้ำยา แล้วจึงนำไปเข้าหล่อออกมาเป็นรูปร่างต่างๆ ทุกๆคนได้ระบายสีตุ๊กตายางและนำกลับมาเป็นที่ระลึก ตอนนี้พวกเราก็รู้แล้วว่ายางทำมาจากอะไร

เมื่อวันอังคารที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน นักเรียน Year 7 ได้ไปเยี่ยมศูนย์พัฒนาการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมผู้สูงอายุบ้านภูเก็ต ที่ป่าคลอก
เหล่าคุณตาคุณยายซาบซึ้งมากที่เด็กๆไปเยี่ยมท่าน เด็กๆได้ร้องเพลง ‘Forever Young’ และเพลงสรรเสริญพระบารมีฯ เพลงชาติไทย ให้ฟัง จากนั้นเด็กๆแบ่งออกเป็นกลุ่มเล็กๆ เข้าไปสนทนากับคุณตาคุณยายเหล่านั้น ถามถึงชีวิตของพวกเค้า นักเรียน 2 คนได้ร้องเพลงลูกทุ่งให้ฟังด้วย จากนั้นเด็กๆก็ช่วยอุดหนุนซื้อของซึ่งเป็นงานฝีมือของคุณตาคุณยายกลับมาด้วย พอเรากล่าวคำลากลับ คุณตาคุณยายก็ร้องเพลงขอบคุณพวกเราด้วย

รายกายแข่งว่ายน้ำ ธัญญะปุระ (The Thanyapura Super League) มีการจัดแยกออกไป 3 รายการ โดยกระจายกันแข่งไปตลอดปี วันเสาร์ที่ 1 กันยายน เป็นนัดแรก และเป็นรายการแรกสำหรับฤดูการแข่งขันนี้ของทีม AquaPanthers
เป็นรายการแข่งขันแรกของนักกีฬาของเรา ซึ่งทุกคนทำได้ดี นักกีฬายอดเยี่ยมวันนี้ของเราคือ Vova Vladimirov ( ในรุ่นชาย อาย 13-14 ปี) Qistina Elyssa ( ในรุ่นหญิง อายุ 9-10 ปี) Jiraya Prieur ( ในรุ่นหญิง อายุ 13-14 ปี) และ Sam Stowe ( ในรุ่นชาย อายุ 7-8 ขวบ)

รายการแข่งฟุตบอลประเภท 7 คน ที่โรงเรียน BISP
วันศุกร์ที่ 7 และวันเสาร์ที่ 8 นี้ ทีมฟุตบอลชายรุ่น อายุต่ำกว่า 11 ปี และ 13 ปี และรุ่นอายุเกิน 15 ปี จะลงดวลแข้งในรายการฟุตบอลที่ BISP Soccer 7s football tournament.

รายการThanyapura Triathlon
ในวันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน ทางธัญญะปุระ จะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดรายการแข่งขันมาราธอน โดยปรกติแล้ว ทางโรงเรียนเราจะรับเป็นธุระในการรับสมัคร ฝึกซ้อม และไปช่วยเชียร์ แต่ในคราวนี้ทำไม่ได้ เนื่องจากวันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน นี้ เป็นวันที่โรงเรียนนำพนักงานไปลงเรือเที่ยวกัน
โรงเรียนจึงขอให้นักเรียนและท่านผู้ปกครองที่สนใจจะเข้าร่วมรายการดังกล่าวนี้ โปรดติดต่อกับทางธัญญะปุระ เองโดยตรงเลย

ข่าวจากแผนกภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย
เมื่อวันที่ 6 พฤศจิกายนนี้ ทางโรงเรียนเราได้จัดงานทศกาล วันลอยกระทง
หลังจากอัญเชิญธงชาติขึ้นเสาแล้ว พวกเราก็สนุกสนานกับการรำฟ้อนแบบไทยๆ โดยนักเรียนไทยและนักเรียนต่างชาติ ที่ตั้งใจฝึกซ้อมอย่างหนักในช่วงที่เรียนพิเศษหลังโรงเรียนเลิก เพื่อนำมาแสดงให้ชมในวันนี้ หลังจากนั้นเหล่านักเรียน ครู และผู้ปกครองก็รำวงร่วมกัน รอบสนาม ในช่วงตลอดวัน ครูภาษาไทย และนักเรียน และผู้ปกครองมาช่วยกันทำกระทงในคาบเรียนวิชาภาษาไทย นักเรียนและครู ได้ลิ้มลองขนมไทยๆมากมาย หลายหลายชนิด ในช่วงพักรับประทานอาหารกลางวัน
