Headstart Event - Mr Scrooge Finds Christmas
The music, drama and art department are very proud of the effort put in to this week’s musical production of Scrooge by all the students and teachers involved in the show. After 80 hours of rehearsal and hard work from our directors, cast members and choreographer, we can say our show was extremely successful. Thank you to all the parents who contributed their time and effort and thank you to the students who helped the art department to paint the backdrops. We greatly appreciate the support from our sponsors and management team and those who came to watch the show. We look forward to working with the talented Headstart children in our next production. We hope you have a wonderful holiday.

ECA’s for Term 2 by Miki Edouard, Events Manager
- ECA’s run from the beginning to the end of Term 2. There is no delay in start or early finish. - Both Drumming and Basketball for the Year 1-3 boys and girls will have to be cancelled for next term as we have no longer have teachers available for these classes. - There have been changes made to the Secondary Boosters. An e mail will be sent to you with more information regarding this before the term starts so that you can prepare for term 2. - Swimming classes have now been restructured. Please see the information below regarding the program. Transportation will still be provided for the Primary students. Secondary students will need to arrange their own transportation as their classes end later.

After School Bus for ECA Students If you wish your child to take the last bus at 5.30pm after an ECA, you need to register your son/daughter. You can register your son/daughter by emailing Mr Kennedy at: [email protected]**. **
The following information will need to be confirmed in the registration email:
(1) The ECA your son/daughter attends.
(2) What day your son/daughter attends the ECA.
Students, who do not attend an ECA but stay late after school, will need to be picked up by parents or another appointed adult at an arranged time. They will not be permitted to take the late bus.

Big buddy, little buddy junk modeling session ** by Laura Rutherford, Reception ** Yr 5 B came to help the Reception B children with a junk modeling session. The year 5’s were able to share their Design and Technology skills with the younger children to help them realise their ideas! We all had a great time, and Year 5 B children showed us just how much patience they had!

Year 4 Journalists Enjoy the Fruit of Their Labours by Claire Smyth, Year 4A teacher The children of year 4 wrote a newspaper and then sold it to the pupils of Headstart as part of an English and enterprise project. They then spent the money on a picnic in the sun. We look forward to seeing them as the future Alan Sugars and Donald Trumps of the world!
Year 4A Christmas Play by Claire Smyth, Year 4A teacher
Year 4A performed their assembly this morning for their parents and children in KS2. The children put on a Christmas-themed play which featured elves, reindeer, Mrs Claus, a snowman and of course Santa Claus! The children worked so hard to learn their lines and a song at the end and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Well done, year 4A!

Shark Guardian Assembly
Shark Guardian came to HeadStart on Thursday the 11th to present their new book ‘Sharks: Our Ocean Guardians’ by Gail Clarke. HeadStart raised more than 10000 THB to help with the publication of the book. The book only just arrived in Thailand last week and our students were given the world premiere. Liz read the book to all our primary students and answered hundreds of questions. We wish Shark Guardian all the best in educating people all over the world about the importance of shark preservation.

Mandarin Class Cultural Learning by Aileen Wang, Mandarin teacher Y7 students learned Christmas expressions, songs and made Christmas cards as a part of their cross-cultural learning.
Thai Department News
H.M. the King’s Birthday Celebration Khru Nee, Deputy Thai Principal On Thursday, the 4th of December 2014, HeadStart celebrated Father’s Day by holding assembly to honour the King of Thailand. The Year 7-8 students sang the Thai Royal Anthem at the beginning of the ceremony followed by speeches from Dr Parimon and Mr Drew. We wish H.M. the King a continued long and prosperous reign. Thank you to the parents, students and staff for your participation.
Guest Speaker from Satree Phuket School Khru Nee, Deputy Thai Principal On Wednesday, the 3rd of December 2014, we were very pleased to have Khun Or, a Headstart Thai parent, and a team of Thai teachers and students from Satree Phuket School give a presentation about Thai classical instruments to our Year 2 and Year 5 classes. The students had the opportunity to see Thai instruments and learn about how to play them. Thank you to Khun Or and the team from Satree Phuket School for taking the time to be with our students. And thank you Kru Dia for organizing this activity.
Sports Department News
Football ECA Additions by Coach JR We would like to introduce added football practice for the 7, 8 and 9 year olds that have class on Tuesday. This additional practice is optional and will run from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Please inform Coach JR if you are interested in joining this additional practice.
Foundation and Key Stage 1 Sports Day News by Fiona Whittaker, P.E. teacher Wednesday saw lots of activity on the field with the Foundation and Key Stage 1 Sports Days. All the children worked hard and with great enthusiasm showing off all the skills they have learnt over the term at the different activity stations, which was in the form of a circuit.
Early Years and Reception finished their sessions with a class competition and Ms Linda’s children won the Early Years and it was a draw between both the reception classes.
During the Year One and Two sessions, the children worked in teams to score as many points as they could for their Houses. There was lots of competition as all the children were encouraging each other to do their best for their Houses which was really great to see.
Results were as follows:
Year One 1st Tigers by 10 pts 2nd Cardinals 3rd Dragons 4th Cheetahs
Year Two 1st Cardinals by only 6pts 2nd Cheetahs 3rd Dragons 4th Tigers
Both Year Two classes also performed a Sports Day Chant to each of the different year groups. They really enthused the others and set the tone for what was a really great Sports Day for all the Foundation and Key Stage 1 children. They did this brilliantly both in voice and actions!

Primary and Secondary Sports Day News by Tladi Small, Head of P.E.
This week there have been house sports competitions. There have been absolutely beautiful days which added to the enjoyment of this spectacular event. We had a basketball and handball and the students competed as Year 3&4, Years 5&6, Years 7&8, Years 9-11.
The competitors far exceeded expectations and performed to an exceptionally high standard in all games. The students battled hard in these games and left us all astounded with their prowess and hunger for victory.
All students had a chance to compete and battle for the coveted House Cup.
The overall results are based on the following criteria:

** Bangkok Patana Feeding Frenzy 2014** This weekend 14 AquaPanthers will compete in the Bangkok Patana Feeding Frenzy. This swim meet will have more than 600 swimmers competing from all over Asia. The AquaPanthers have been training hard and will be engaged in some exciting match ups.
We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing about their successes.

Boys Basketball (U13) The boys’ basketball played their second game in the Phuket School’s sports league last Tuesday. The game was played against Phuketthaihua Asean Wittaya School (Phuket Thai Hua School). This was the team’s first away fixture.
In the first half the game was a close affair. Great outside shots from Marc and Benjamin keep the young Panthers team on the in contention for the win. Special mention has also got to go to Reece whose tenacious defence keep the Panthers in the game.
Unfortunately, in the second half Phuket Thai Hua School superior rebounding started to show and slowly the game got away from the Panthers. That being said the Panthers worked hard in their second game, gained lots of experience and showed plenty of promise for the future.

Peninsular Sports Federation Football games (December 6th and 7th) Last Saturday and Sunday four boys joined the QSI team to play in the football tournament. The four boys player well against some tough opposition and learnt a lot about how to play the 11 a side game. We look forward to seeing these older students develop their football in the future. นักหนังสือพิมพ์สมัครเล่นYear4 ของเราสร้างรายได้ โดย ** Claire Smyth, Year 4A teacher ในส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมวิชาภาษาอังกฤษและธุรกิจ นักเรียนyear 4 ได้จัดทำหนังสือพิมพ์ออกขายภายในโรงเรียน รายได้จากการขายหนังสือพิมพ์นั้น ก็นำมาเป็นค่าอาหารปิคนิคกัน หวังว่าจะได้เห็นพวกเค้าเหล่านี้เติบโตเป็นนักธุรกิจระดับโลกอย่าง Alan Sugars และ Donald Trumps !

ชมรมอนุรักษ์ปลาฉลาม ได้มาเยี่ยมโรงเรียนและได้นำหนังสือเล่มใหม่เรื่อง‘Sharks: Our Ocean Guardians’ เขียนโดย Gail Clarke มามอบให้ เมื่อวันพฤหัสฯที่ 11 นี้ ซึ่งทางโรงเรียนได้รวบรวมเงินทั้งหมดได้มากกว่า 10000 บาท ได้มอบให้เพื่อช่วยเหลือค่าพิมพ์หนังสือเล่มนี้ ซึ่งเพิ่งส่งมาถึงเมืองไทยเมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อน และนักเรียนของเราได้ฟังเป็นครั้งแรกในโลก คุณลิซ ได้อ่านหนังสือเล่มนี้ให้นักเรียนชั้นประถมฯทั้งหมดฟังและตอบคำถามอีกมากมายหลายร้อยคำถาม ขอให้โชคดีและประสพความสำเร็จในการให้ความรู้แก่คนทั่วโลกเรื่องความสำคัญของการอนุรักษ์ปลาฉลาม ** **

กิจกรรมเฉลิมพระเกียรติวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษาพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว Khru Nee, Deputy Thai Principal เมื่อวันพฤหัสฯที่ 4 ธันวาคม 2557 ทางโรงเรียน HeadStart ได้ร่วมกันจัดกิจกรรม เทิดพระเกียรติวันพ่อแห่งชาติ เริ่มด้วยนักเรียนYear 7-8 ร่วมร้องเพลงสรรเสริญพระบารมี จากนั้น ดร.ปริมล ไพรสำราญ และ Mr Drew กล่าวถวายราชสดุดีเฉลิมพระเกียรติและกล่าวถวายพระพรชัยมงคล พวกเราขอพระองค์ทรงพระเจริญยิ่งยืนนาน ขอขอบคุณผู้ปกครอง นักเรียน และพนักงาน ที่มาเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมด้วยกัน

ข่าวการแข่งกีฬาสี ของเด็กอนุบาลและป.1-2 โดย * *Fiona Whittaker, P.E. teacher เมื่อวันพุธนี้ เป็นวันแข่งกีฬาสีของเด็กอนุบาลและป.1-2 เด็กๆลงสนามอย่างเข้มแข็งและกระตือรือร้นมาก แสดงออกถึงทักษะต่างๆที่ได้ร่ำเรียนมาตลอดเทอม การละเล่นตามตำแหน่งต่างๆที่จัดรูปแบบเป็นการเคลื่อนครบรอบ
เด็กชั้น Early Years และชั้น Reception จบการแข่งขันกันระหว่างห้อง A และ ห้อง B แล้ว ปรากฏว่า เด็กๆในห้องเรียนของ ครูลินดา ชนะในชั้น Early Years และเสมอกันสำหรับชั้น Reception AและB
การแข่งขันของ Year 1 และ 2 เด็กๆแบ่งกันเป็นทีมตามสีของบ้านที่ตนเป็นสมาชิกอยู่
ผลการแข่งขันมีดังต่อไปนี้:

เด็กชั้น Year2 ทั้งสองห้องช่วยกันเชียร์เด็กในชั้นอื่นๆ ในรูปแบบกองเชียร์ ทั้งเสียงและท่าทางที่ครบครัน ให้ความรู้สึกคึกคักของวันแข่งกีฬาสีในแบบที่ควรจะเป็น! และทางเด็กโต ก็ได้เข้ามาให้ความช่วยเหลือ ให้กำลังใจน้องๆให้สู้สุดตัวเลย ทุกๆคนสนุกมากในวันนั้น !!

สัปดาห์นี้เป็นช่วงกีฬาสีของโรงเรียน เป็นวันที่ท้องฟ้าสดใสมาก มีการแข่งบาสเก็ตบอลและแฮนด์บอล แบ่งสายการแข่งขันดังนี้ Year 3 กับ 4, Year 5 กับ 6, Years 7 กับ 8, Years 9 กับ 11.
นักเรียนแข่งขันกันเต็มที่เกินคาด เป็นที่ประทับใจทุกคนที่มาชม นักเรียนทุกๆคนได้มีส่วนร่วมในการแข่งขันที่จะชิงถ้วยรางวัลสุดยอดปรารถนาให้บ้านที่ตนเป็นสมาชิกอยู่

** รายการแข่งว่ายน้ำที่โรงเรียนบางกอกพัฒนา Bangkok Patana Feeding Frenzy 2014** สุดสัปดาห์นี้ นักว่ายน้ำ 14 คนจากทีม AquaPanthers ของโรงเรียนเฮดสตาร์ท จะเข้าร่วมแข่งขันว่ายน้ำที่ รายการ Bangkok Patana Feeding Frenzy มีนักว่ายน้ำมากกว่า 600 คน จากทั่วเอเซียเข้าร่วมแข่งขันในรายการนี้ ทีมนักกีฬาของเราได้ฝึกซ้อมมาอย่างหนัก และจะลงแข่งในรายการที่น่าตื่นเต้นนี้ ขอให้โชคดีทุกๆคน รอฟังข่าวดีอยู่ครับ

** รายการแข่งบาสเก็ตบอล ทีมชาย อายุต่ำกว่า 13** ปี ทีมบาสเก็ตบอลชาย ลงแข่งนัดที่ 2 ในรายการโรงเรียนในภูเก็ต เมื่อวันอังคารที่แล้ว ทีมของเรา ลงแข่งกับทีมของโรงเรียนภูเก็ตไทหัวฯ นี่เป็นนัดแรกที่ไปแข่งนอกสถานที่ **
ในครึ่งแรกของการแข่งขัน เล่นแบบสูสี Marc และ Benjamin ทำคะแนนยิงระยะไกล ทำให้ทีมของเรายังเกาะติดอยู่ไม่ทิ้งห่าง โดยเฉพาะ Reece ซึ่งยืนหยัดป้องกันอย่างเหนียวแน่น
น่าเสียดาย ที่ในครึ่งหลัง ทางทีมของภูเก็ตไทหัว ซึ่งมีทักษะเหนือกว่าในการแย่งลูกคืน ทำให้เริ่มทำคะแนนนำไปมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ กล่าวได้ว่าทีมของเราตั้งใจเล่นอย่างเต็มที่ ในนัดที่สอง และได้สร้างสมประสพการณ์มากขึ้น เพื่อจะก้าวไปเป็นทีมที่เก่งมากขึ้นต่อไปในอนาคต

** รายการแข่งฟุตบอล Peninsular Sports Federation Football games** ( วันที่ 6 และ 7 ธันวาคม) เมื่อวันเสาร์และวันอาทิตย์ที่แล้ว นักกีฬาของเรา 4 คนไปร่วมทีมของ QSI เพื่อลงแข่งขันฟุตบอล ทั้ง 4 คนเล่นได้ดี เจอกับคู่แข่งที่แกร่งๆ ได้เรียนรู้ในการเล่น ในประเภทใช้ผู้เล่น 11คน
เราหวังว่าเด็กโต ของเราจะได้พัฒนาทักษะในการเล่นฟุตบอลมากขึ้นในอนาคต รายชื่อผู้เล่นของเราทั้ง 4 คน:
