Share Your Child’s Success
At HeadStart, we are incredibly proud of the many and varied achievements of our students, from academic accomplishments to sporting success and creative endeavours. Whether taking part in one of our many extra-curricular activities or school programmes, or developing a lifelong passion outside school, our students frequently demonstrate that they are inspired by a love of learning.
Each week, we have the opportunity to celebrate these successes as a community both at our Monday morning flag raising ceremony and through our various social media channels.

Thai Homework for Early Years and Reception Parent Presentation on 25.01.24
On Thursday, January 25th, we were delighted to welcome Thai parents from our Early Years and Reception classes to a presentation on the homework policy, and school expectations within the ‘Thai as a First Language’ Programme. The session provided valuable tips on how parents can actively support their children with homework and create a positive learning environment at home. We discussed techniques to keep students motivated while studying Thai. Additionally, parents had the chance to see samples of students’ workbooks from Primary through Secondary.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who attended — we hope the information shared proves beneficial!

We invite parents of children from Reception class to Year 2 to join us for our latest parent meeting when we will run a workshop focused on the Zones of Regulation strategies that are used in school to help your child monitor and manage their own behaviour. We look forward to seeing you there! Thursday 1st February 2024 from 8:15-9:30am in the Primary Hall (second floor of Sports Building).
Last weekend, a number of our Girls Football Academy players joined their teammates from our Chaofah Football Academy to travel to Bangkok to compete in the Bangkok International Girls Football Festival. The competition was held over two days and saw teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand. With most teams being academy football teams, the standards were very high and a challenge for most teams. There was some really good football being played and the efforts of the girls was fantastic, playing 5 games on the first day in the Bangkok heat. With the majority of our girls younger in their age groups, they continued to never give up and they were rewarded with some great games and performances.
We came away from the tournament with smiles and ultimately it was a valuable experience for the girls on and off the field with their team mates. Also, a big thank you to the parents who came to Bangkok to support the teams with their positivity and help. Well done Girls!
The HeadStart Panthers Cherngtalay U9 Boys welcomed Bangjo Academy for the first match of the year. There were some great moments in the game; it was fantastic to see our team developing and getting a chance to play competitively. We look forward to more matches soon. Great effort by all the U9 Boys, well done! - Coach Paul
Exploring Percussion and Sound in Early Years
The Early Years children enthusiastically delved into the enchanting world of percussive instruments during their mini CAPA session! Immersed in their minibeast theme, they joyfully practiced delightful nursery rhymes, singing along with gusto and adding an extra layer of excitement by shaking their instruments to the lively beat. This immersive experience not only fostered their expressive arts development but also contributed significantly to expanding their vocabulary, particularly in handling polysyllabic words. Kudos to the children for their remarkable engagement and creative exploration! - Miss Rachael
Active Learning in Maths in Year 3
Year 3 took their Maths learning outdoors whilst learning about the topic of perimeter. We made a variety of 2D shapes with different perimeters using metre rulers and cones. We had to use teamwork and problem solving skills to make irregular shapes and ensure our measurements were accurate. - Ms. Davies
Collaborating to Create Quizzes Using Code in Year 4
In Computing class this week, the Year 4’s had an exciting time navigating the coding platform, Scratch. We created a fun, interactive Maths quiz for our friends to try out! The Year 4’s were collaborative, helping each other master new skills. Way to go, Year 4! - Mrs. Cotterell
Learning to Argue in Year 6
This week in Year 6, we have launched our new topic - balanced arguments! To help get an understanding of how to argue, we held a class debate, discussing whether children should be allowed to miss a year of school to travel the world! I was amazed by the creative ideas the children had and how well they collaborated to develop interesting points that were very persuasive. Everyone was involved, helping to craft speeches for their team to deliver and ask interesting questions to challenge the speakers. For our first debate, I was very impressed! - Mr. Wakefield
