Hello, my name is Alice and I am new Science teacher at HeadStart International School. I am originally from England and was born in Birmingham, but have spent most of my adult life living and working in Nottingham. I completed my BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science, and PhD in Molecular Cancer Biology, both in Nottingham. In between completing my BSc degree and PhD, I worked in numerous scientific environments. This has included as a Biomedical Scientist in a hospital microbiology laboratory, Research Scientist at The University of Leeds, Communications Officer at a Cancer Charity in Sydney, Australia, and a Project Manager for a Science Research Council. I’m looking forward to sharing my love of science, as well as my scientific work experience to enhance the learning of students at HeadStart. Outside of science I am a keen martial artist. My biggest passion is for Taekwondo, which I started when I was 8 years old. I am currently a 4th degree black belt and have represented team England both nationally and internationally. In addition, I partake in CrossFit and enjoy swimming and being in the sea. This will be my first time living and working in Thailand, and I'm excited to start my journey and meeting everyone here at HeadStart.
