Sawadee kah! Hello! I’m Carolyn McKee, parent of two amazing HeadStart students and the newest addition to the UCAS team. I’m here as a part time University Counseling Support Officer to Ms. Bedi, Ms. Tuppen, and Mr. Roscoe, alongside Khun Nan. I’m here to help past and current students and families, as well as HeadStart staff to ease needs supporting the Sixth Form. I’ve lived in Thailand since 2017, teaching at an International School in Khao Yai and training as a Certified Martha Beck Life Coach in Phuket. I started working with teenagers in 2000 as a Field Instructor for Outward Bound in Florida, USA. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Sport Science from Colorado State University in 2000 and then a teaching licence in General Science in 2004. I earned my Master’s of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from State University New York in 2018. Since 2004, I have been working in schools teaching middle and high school science in Colorado, USA, Doha, Qatar, and Khao Yai, Thailand. Whilst undoubtedly science is the best subject, what I’ve enjoyed the most is working with students and their families and school communities. Relationships with people are at the heart of who I am and what I do; my aim is to help students deeply explore their personal interests and achieve their wild and precious desires. Working with the incredible UCAS team is a perfect fit for me as it combines the science and art of helping young people achieving their goals.
