Hello! Sawadee Ka! My name is Lynda Kite and I am a secondary teacher of Drama and English. I grew up in the small city of Canterbury in England, which is where I attended Canterbury Christ Church University and completed my BA degree in Drama. I then went on to attend Middlesex University to complete my postgraduate certificate in education in Drama and English. From a young age travelling has always been a huge passion of mine, this passion inspired me to move to China where I worked and lived for 6 years. During my time in China, I worked as a teacher of Drama, English and EAL, where I taught a range of foundation, primary and secondary students. I am very dedicated to the creative arts, throughout my life I have participated in many on-stage performances across England and even a few short films! I feel very lucky that my passion for teaching and travelling has now brought me to the beautiful island of Phuket and to HeadStart. It is very important to me that in my classroom I can create a positive and safe environment where everyone feels comfortable. As well as an environment where children can feel supported, engaged, challenged, and of course, experience lots of fun! As an internationally-minded teacher, I am a firm believer in encouraging students to be open-minded and tolerant towards everyone’s culture and background, so that we can all learn and grow from each other.
