Hello! My name is Maddy Davies. I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all students and parents as we embark on an exciting journey of learning and growth together. I am both honoured and enthusiastic to be working at HeadStart Cherngtalay campus in Year 3. I am thrilled to be on this brilliant adventure with you all at the new campus. I was born and brought up in Watamu, Kenya which is a beautiful coastal town in East Africa. My later education took place in Oxfordshire and following this, I did my Undergraduate degree at Exeter University where I studied Sociology, and then completed my Post Graduate Certificate of Education at University College London (UCL) I have taught in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 over the last five years. Most recently I worked in Year 1 whilst simultaneously leading the STEM team and implementing the engineering curriculum. Before this, I taught Year 3, which I loved and am enthused to be returning to. My primary goal is to inspire a genuine love for learning in every student. I firmly believe that education is the key that unlocks countless opportunities. By nurturing curiosity, I aspire to create an environment where students are not just passive recipients of knowledge, but active seekers and creators of it. One of my core values is to ensure that every child feels comfortable, confident, and happy within the school community. I understand that each student comes to the classroom with a unique set of strengths, challenges, and dreams. It's my commitment to provide a safe and inclusive space where every individual feels valued, respected, and encouraged to express themselves. Together, we will foster a sense of belonging that empowers students to embrace their potential and take risks in their learning journey. I am genuinely excited to meet each student and embark on an adventure of discovery, growth, and transformation. Together, we will create a classroom where curiosity is celebrated, learning is an adventure, and every child finds joy in their educational journey. Here's to a remarkable year ahead.
