Hello! My name is Megan Meck and I am extremely excited to be back on the HeadStart team, and to be teaching in Year 2 Yellow. I grew up in a town just outside of London, in England, where I completed my BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education in a local university in 2017. I have taught in several schools across East London, and Essex, within a range of year groups from KS1 and KS2. As well as teaching, I like to keep my weekends and holidays busy, where I have spent lots of time managing children’s holiday camps, and hosting various children’s parties. I am a keen dancer, having trained and performed with E.P. Star Twirlers since the age of three. This has taught me dedication, perseverance, determination, and taught me how to maintain a work-life balance. I have competed at a national level, and have enjoyed coordinating after school dance classes at all my schools, and choreographing a biannual display demonstrating the children’s hard work, and new skills. My absolute favourite thing, aside from working, is to spend my time travelling and going on adventures with my friends and family. I love to go hiking in the mountains and wild camping. I am looking forward to exploring the island, and experience the beautiful sights and taste lots of amazing food. I find teaching extremely rewarding and have learnt a great deal over the years. The most rewarding aspect is the positive effect I can have on a child’s education and wellbeing. I am a passionate, hard-working, and dedicated individual who strives to provide the best learning experience for my pupils. I am super excited to meet the pupils of Year 2 Yellow, and cannot wait to see what adventures we will get up to throughout the year. If you have any queries, my door is always open so please do not hesitate to pop in and say Hello!
