I originate from England and have worked at HeadStart since 2012. My qualifications consist of two degrees, a Master’s Degree in Criminology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Criminology. This was followed by a PGCE in Primary Education focusing on the KS1 and KS2 British curriculum. Teaching is fast paced and challenging and I have gained extensive experience with the teaching of synthetic phonics and value the importance of this programme in order to give children a secure foundation to: understand the complexities of the English language, to be able to read, to write and to spell words. It is wonderful to see how children develop, both socially and academically as time progresses and I enjoy being part of their learning journey. Teaching is my passion and it is a privilege to be part of the pivotal moments when children’s understanding of the world grows. I consider myself to be a friendly, approachable person, but can present myself as firm but fair when the occasion is called for. I freely communicate with parents as I view our relationship as essential in order to ensure that each child is happy, secure and progressing within the learning environment – my door is always open. I enjoy being part of the HeadStart team and look forward to the new academic year of learning in Year 3 Yellow and building a relationship with you and your children.
