Hello! My name is Richard Pompilis and I am the Homeroom Teacher for Year Six Blue. I am originally from London, United Kingdom, and as a child I attended schools in Kensington and Chelsea, where my love for education and academics grew. After working for a short time as a Teaching Assistant, I chose to study Primary Education at The University of Northampton, to inspire a new wave of young learners. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, with a minor in Physical Education. I spent several years working across schools in London, where I was a class teacher. I have also been the Head of the Humanities, and Physical Education Departments in two different schools. I ran many ASPs, including STEM, Forest Schooling Activities and Sports Clubs. I have a great passion and drive to ensure all my pupils achieve to the best of their ability. My teaching incorporates many different pedagogical styles to ensure all pupils learn, but are also challenged at their level of learning. Engaging activities, games, songs and music are just a few ways that I make my lessons interactive and fun! In 2018, I travelled to China, where I spent three years teaching and coaching students of all ages. While in China, I was privileged to absorb a new culture, and experience living in Asia, which I have fallen in love with! I have now been living in Thailand for one year, and hope to continue living here, and becoming an active member in the HeadStart community, which has been so welcoming and open to my arrival. I look forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks, and months. My door is always open, if you have any queries or questions!
