Share Your Child’s Success
We would like to celebrate exceptional students whose achievements reach beyond the classroom. If you would like to share your child’s success with us, and with the wider community, please scan the QR code below to fill out the form. Each week, during our Monday morning Flag Raising assembly, we will share this success with our school community, giving your child the chance to share their achievements with their friends and peers. We can also keep the community informed through our Facebook page, creating a wave of support and empowerment for the student.
Stay Up-to-date on Social Media

Parent Meetings & Presentations |
Parent Meeting 2: Online Homework Platforms
It was great to see so many Primary parents join us for our second parent meeting of the school year. Our Head of Foundation & Primary, Mr. Tony Williams, gave an introduction to the online homework platforms that we use at HeadStart and explained how parents can work effectively to support their Primary age children to get the most out of this important link between school and home. Parent Meeting 3: Introduction to the EYFS Curriculum on 14.09.23
Come join us! We welcome parents to join us for our third parent meeting of the school year when we will talk parents of our Foundation age pupils (Preschool, Early Years and Reception) through our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum and offer hints and tips on how to ensure your child gets the most out of our play-based curriculum. We look forward to seeing you there! Thursday 14th September 2023 from 8:15-9:30am in the Indoor Learning Centre (ILC).
Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) Fair |
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, we welcomed our community to find out all about the fantastic range of Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) we have on offer. There were opportunities for children to try out jewelry making and robotics while parents were able to get answers to their questions about our various sports and dance clubs.
HeadStart Panthers Football Academy Tryouts |
Before the inaugural HeadStart Panthers Football Academy season officially kicks off next week, our prospective footballers were invited to attend tryouts this week with Coach Frost and Coach Paul. This was a great opportunity for our newest Panther recruits to get to know their future teammates before the official squad announcements and Academy sessions start next week.
Football Academy sessions will run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (16:30-18:00) and on Saturday mornings (8:00-11:00) at our Cherngtalay Campus. We are all looking forward to an amazing first season!
Playground News |
At HeadStart, play forms an essential part of every school day - no more so than at break and lunchtimes when our children get the opportunity to monkey around their state-of-art playground! Through play, children learn about the world and themselves. They also learn skills they need for study, work and relationships such as: confidence, self-esteem, resilience, interaction, social skills, independence, curiosity, coping with challenging situations.

Recognising Patterns in Preschool
In Preschool this week, the children were engrossed with the pattern blocks toy which is great for developing spatial awareness, colour recognition, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving skills. It was an added bonus to see the children playing so comfortably side by side!

Developing Mouse Control in Year 1 Computing Lessons
In Year 1, the children have already begun to show good progress in their ability to control their mouse during Computing lessons. This week the children were given the task of creating pictures of their families and homes through the use of their mouse. It is amazing to see such ability after such a short time! Well done Year 1!
Flexing our Muscles in Year 3
Year 3 have been loving their Science learning over the past two weeks. We have been exploring skeletons and muscles and talking about how these parts of our bodies help us in everyday life. We have been trying to pattern seek and classify to improve our ability to work as scientists. This week, we explored how the muscles contract and shorten and, as they relax, they lengthen. We then created a 3D demonstration of this in class.
