Safety Announcement!!!
PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY IN THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT. BE MINDFUL OF THE STUDENTS PASSING!
Pick up Procedure changes–Important announcement!
With the fast growing number of students at HeadStart, it is essential for us to tighten up our security policies to ensure the safety of all our students. As such, we will be implementing the following procedures. We hope you will understand that although some of these changes may cause minor inconveniences, they are necessary and we ask for your cooperation and understanding. The safety and security of our students is of paramount importance to us.
Foundation - Year1:
All students are expected to be picked up by their parent or guardian from the classroom between 3:00 and 3:30. Students not picked up by 3:30 will be supervised in the library until 4:15. You will need to present your Parent Pick Up Pass to the teacher or assistant when collecting your child.
Year 2 - Year 6:
All students will be brought outside by the teacher or assistant and will wait in the pick-up area from 3:00 – 3:15. Students not picked up by 3:15 will be supervised in the library until 4:15.
Students taking after school classes should be picked up from their class at 4:15 or from the library if parents are late.
Parents are expected to pick up their children from the library no later than 4:15.
Secondary:
Secondary students must NOT leave the school gate without a pick-up pass.
Notes:
As part of our pick-up policy, HeadStart will provide every parent with a sticker to put on the left-hand side of the windshield of your car. The purpose of this sticker is to control the vehicles that have access to HeadStart.
If you need more than one sticker, please contact Lynyrd in the office downstairs and he will provide you with additional stickers.

Y11 and 12 Students Concerns–Mr Millington
We would like to inform parents not to be alarmed if they see Y11 and Y12 students outside school during school hours. These students are completing the IGCSE and the GCE AS examinations and are only required to be in school for the examination itself. The rest of the day is optional for the student to be studying at school in the designated study room, or at home.
Thank you for your continued vigilance in all matter of student security.
Run for Richard
The P.E. department would like to organise a fundraiser for Richard Allenby for the outstanding balance of funds still needed for hospital bills after his emergency surgery in April. Teacher Kayleigh will be running her first full marathon and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to sponsor her and the funds will go towards Richard. We will be having a raffle where you will put in 100 baht and choose a number and those whose numbers get picked out, will win a prize.
We would also like to encourage people to take part in this beautiful run as there are distances for everyone so the whole family can participate! For more information, you can go onto the Phuket Marathon website or email one of the PE teachers!
Stingray Swimming Academy Update–Kayleigh Damant
The Stingray Swimming Academy has taken off with a great start this term. There has already been great progress and the children are improving by the week. We now have an A and B squad and the team seems to be growing at a rapid rate! If your children have an interest in joining the squad, the age group ranges from Year 3 to 6. Please come and speak to Teacher Steve or Teacher Kayleigh if you are interested.
Announcement from the Thai Department
Under Thai law, male citizens under the age of 21 may be obliged to do Military service. We would like to invite parents to a short presentation about the implications of the regulations on Monday 20th, May 2013 at the school library from 08:30 – 09:30. Eligible HeadStart students will be able to attend a ‘Nor Sor Tor’ course (Military cadet training) in Krabi in July 2013. Eligible students will be able to register at Chalermprakiet school on the 27th May 2013 followed by a physical test on 30th May at Sapan Hin.
HeadStart Students Contributions– A letter from Gail Clarke
I thought I’d let you know that I have put up three pages of pod fish on my website: www.gailclarkeauthor.com one of which comes entirely from Head Start. There were so many fabulous contributions that I decided to put them on the website so the children could admire their own (and other children’s artwork) They look great!
Lots more entries are coming in from far and wide - including England, Kenya, Asia, and Hong Kong which is wonderful! Next addition, America!
I will keep adding posts to the website but it will be a while before all the entries are in and I can make a final choice. However, because the response was so good I am going to try to put two pages of children’s fish on both of the inside covers, front and back to maximise their efforts! The fish from Head Start are outstanding - your art teacher is marvellous and obviously did a wonderful job motivating her students.

เนื่องด้วยจำนวนนักเรียนที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น ทางโรงเรียนจึงมีความจำเป็นต้องปรับเปลี่ยนมาตการด้านความปลอดภัยเพื่อนักเรียนของเรา ซึ่งทางโรงเรียนจะเริ่มดำเนินการในวันจันทร์ เราหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าท่านจะเข้าใจถึงแม้ว่าขั้นตอนต่างๆอาจก่อให้เกิดความไม่สะดวกสบายบ้าง หากแต่ว่าเป็นสิ่งจำเป็น เราจึงขอความร่วมมือและความเข้าใจมายังท่าน.
ระดับชั้นอนุบาล – Year 1
ผู้ปกครองจะต้องมารับนักเรียนทุกคนที่ห้องเรียนในเวลา 15.00 น. และเวลา 15.30 น. หากผู้ปกครองยังไม่มารับนักเรียนเราจะนำนักเรียนเหล่านั้นไปดูแลต่อที่ห้องสมุดจนถึงเวลา 16.15 น. และท่านจะต้องแสดงบัตรรับนักเรียนแก่ครูหรือผู้ช่วยครูทุกครั้งที่มารับนักเรียน
ระดับชั้น Year2-Year6
นักเรียนทุกคนจะถูกนำไปรอที่จุดรับนักเรียนโดยคุณครูหรือผู้ช่วยครูตั้งแต่เวลา 15.00 น.-15.15 น. หากยังไม่มีผู้ปกครองมารับเวลา 15.15 น.นักเรียนเหล่านั้นไปดูแลต่อที่ห้องสมุดจนถึงเวลา 16.15 น.
นักเรียนที่มีชั้นเรียนพิเศษหลังเลิกเรียนให้ผู้ปกครองมารับได้ที่ห้องเรียนในเวลา 16.15 น. หรือรับได้ที่ห้องสมุดหากท่านมารับนักเรียนล่าช้า
ผู้ปกครองที่ต้องรับบุตรหลานของท่านที่ห้องสมุด สามารถมารับได้ในเวลาไม่เกิน 16.15 น.
ระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษา
นักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาไม่สามารถออกจากโรงเรียนได้โดยไม่มีบัตรรับนักเรียน
หมายเหตุ:
นโยบายในการรับนักเรียนนั้น โรงเรียนเฮดสตาร์ทจะจัดเตรียมสติ๊กเกอร์โรงเรียนเพื่อติดที่กระจกรถด้านซ้ายมือของพวงมาลัยเพื่อควบคุมรถที่เข้าออกโรงเรียน
