Football News

In an effort to increase the fitness and technique of our Football players in the U11 and U13 teams, the HeadStart Football program will increase the amount of practice sessions at no additional cost to you. Please see the following chart for more details.

This program will start on the 25th of March, 2013. Please encourage your child to attend these sessions by making sure he/she has the proper equipment and clothing for the practices.

We will also need to use a Song Taew for transport as the school buses are doing their school bus run at this time. The coach will hand you a piece of paper which you will need to sign and return to Coach JR if you give your child permission to travel with the team in the Song Taew.

Primary Literacy week

During the next week Primary will conduct a variety of activities such as Management reading to the students, door decorating competitions, etc. On Monday and Tuesday we will have a visit from Mrs Gail Clarke, a children’s author. She will be reading stories from her 2 new books. See the poster below On Wednesday students and teachers will Dress up as their favourite book character! This should be an eventful week full of Literacy fun!

Phuket Life Saving Association

The Phuket Life Saving Association will host 2 more practical classes for the Y11 and 8 classes as follow up presentations.

Performances for International Day

Please inform Miki ([email protected]) or Karina Briggs ([email protected]) if your country will be performing for International Day so that we can schedule all of the performances. So far we have the following confirmed:

Athletics meet at PIA

HeadStart students competed in an Athletics carnival at PIA, last Thursday, that included athletes from PIA, BIS and QSI. It was an outstanding success from all aspects and congratulations to all those students who participated and thank you to all those parents who attended in support.

There were some outstanding achievements on the day and it would take an entire newsletter to list them all however the following deserve special mention;

Vincent Edouard’s 5 first places in the under 10’s and his effort in running the last leg of the under 10’s relay then going straight to the start and running the first leg of the under 11’s relay to set up their win. - Jessica Clarke’s effort in the U 11 girls sprints and 4 first places. - Jayde in the U10 girls sprints stood out as did the relay team (Jayde, Sandi, Sylvana and Lucy) who convincingly beat the highly fancied BIS Team. - Chris Kirchof in the U14 boys revealed his hidden sprinting talent by powering through the 200m and running a great leg in the boys relay. - There were some phenomenal jumps in the long jump pit: Arina from year 3 competing in her first carnival jumped 3.35m to win the U9 long jump (she also won the 500 meters and was a member of the winning relay team), Julian’s 3.39m and 2nd place in the U11 girls was a fantastic jump in her first competition and Warits 4.69m in the U14 Boys and Brendon’s 4.39m in the U13 boys were way ahead of all other jumps in the pit. - In the 1000m Lolo’s win was a superb effort and Azra’s second place after being asked to fill in just before the race was a great run.

For all those interested in Athletics: Athletics training will continue, with Teacher Jennifer Campbell, at Surakool Stadium next term. The improvement and the results achieved by those who attended her training this term were very evident at this carnival. We hope to see more students involved next term as we are also trying to arrange more regular competitions in the future.

เพื่อให้การฝึกซ้อมฟุตบอลมีประสิทธิภาพและนักฟุตบอลมีร่างกายที่แข็งแรงมากยิ่งขึ้น ทางโรงเรียนเฮดสตาร์ทจึงจะจัดให้มีการฝึกซ้อมให้นักเรียน โครงการนี้จะเริ่มในวันที่ 25 มีนาคม 2556 โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ เอง ขอความกรุณาท่านผู้ปกครองที่จะนำบุตรหลานมาเข้าร่วมโครงการให้เตรียมอุปกรณ์ไปสำหรับเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ และโค้ชจะแจกใบตอบรับให้ท่านผู้ปกครองเพื่อเซ็นอนุญาตให้บุตรหลานของท่านเดินทางโดยใช้รถสองแถวได้

สัปดาห์การอ่านและเขียนของระดับประถม

ในสัปดาห์หน้านี้นักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาจะมีกิจกรรมหลากหลาย เช่น การส่งเสริมบรการอ่านให้แก่นักเรียน การประกวดการตกแต่งและโชว์ผลงานหน้าห้องเรียน และกิจกรรมอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย

วันจันทร์และวันอังคารหน้า คุณเกล คลาร์ค นักเขียนเกี่ยวกับเด็ก จะมาเยี่ยมและโชว์ผลงานใหม่ของเธอ 2 เรื่อง ซึ่งท่านสามารถดูรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมได้ในโปสเตอร์

วันพุธหน้า นักเรียนและครูจะได้แต่งกายตามตัวละครในหนังสือที่ตัวเองชื่นชอบ เป็นสัปดาห์ที่สนุกมากทีเดียว

การแข่งขันกรีฑาที่ PIA

นักเรียนของเราได้ร่วมแข่งขันกรีฑาที่ PIA เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่แล้ว มีนักกรีฑาจากโรงเรียนนานาชาติ PIA โรงเรียนนานาชาติBIS และโรงเรียนนานาชาติ QSI เข้าร่วมแข่งขันด้วยกัน การแข่งขันได้รับความประสบความสำเร็จตามที่คาดไว้ ขอแสดงความยินดีกับนักเรียนที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันครั้งนี้และขอขอบคุณท่านผู้ปกครองทุกท่านที่มาร่วมให้กำลังใจ

รายชื่อนักเรียนที่มีผลการแข่งขันที่น่าชื่นชมในวันนั้น เช่น

วินเซนท์ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศ 5 รายการ รายการแรกวิ่งผลัดชายอายุไม่เกิน 10 ปี เขาวิ่งเป็นไม้สุดท้าย จากนั้นต่อด้วยรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 11 ปี วิ่งเป็นไม้แรก และพวกเขาก็ชนะ
เจสสิก้าวิ่งในรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 11 ปีหญิงและได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศ 4 รายการ
เจดี้วิ่งผลัดหญิงรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 10 ปี (เจดี้ แซนดี้ ซิลวาน่า และลูซี่ ) พบกับทีมจากโรงเรียนนานาชาติ BIS
คลิส เขาทำได้ดีมากในการวิ่งผลัด 200 เมตรชาย ในรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 14 ปีชาย
การแข่งขันกระโดดไกล อารีน่าชั้น Year 3 กระโดดไกลได้ 3.35 เมตร ในรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 9 ปี ซึ่งเป็นการแข่งขันครั้งแรกของเธอ (Arina ยังเป็นหนึ่งในทีมที่ชนะการวิ่งผลัด 500 เมตรหญิงด้วย) จูเลียน 3.39 เมตร ได้อันดับ 2 ในกระโดดไกลรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 11 ปี วริศ กระโดดได้ 4.69 เมตร ในรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 14 ปี และเบรนดอน กระโดดได้ 4.39 เมตร ในรุ่นอายุไม่เกิน 13 ปีชาย
โลโลชนะในรุ่น 1000 เมตร และแอสร่าได้ที่ 2

สำหรับนักเรียนที่สนใจกรีฑา คุณครูเจนนิเฟอร์ เคมเบล จะเป็นผู้ฝึกซ้อมในเทอมหน้าที่สนามสุระกุลเช่นเคย หวังว่าจะมีนักเรียนเข้าร่วมมากขึ้นในเทอมหน้านี้ และเราจะพยายามจัดการแข่งขันให้มากยิ่งขึ้นในอนาคต
