Year 7, 8 and 10 Parents-Teacher Conferences
We will be holding our end to term Parent-Teacher Conferences at school on Monday the 29th and Tuesday the 30th of June. Usually, we would hold these on just the one day, but given the social distancing regulations required to hold PTCs in school, we have decided to hold them over two days. The PTCs are an excellent opportunity for parents and students to discuss with teachers the progress a student is making in a particular subject and what they need to do to improve further.
Parents will receive their son/daughters report on Sunday the 28th of June as this will be used to inform all conversations. We recommend that students and parents come together on the day to talk with subject teachers. Parents will be able to book appointments through their Engage Portal and information on how to do those will be shared with parents by email nearer to the time.
Primary Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our End of Year Primary Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) will take place on the HeadStart school site over two days this year:
-Monday 29th June - 8.00am to 4.00pm -Tuesday 30th June - 8.00am to 4.00pm
Each Parent-Teacher Conference will be 15 minutes long. This will allow for you and your child to have more time with your child’s Homeroom teacher and discuss the learning and progress your child has made over the course of this academic year. More details will follow in due course.
Library Books
As the end of the academic year quickly approaches, we would like to remind all students, teachers, and parents to please return any borrowed library and textbooks back to school in order for us to account for the books and prepare orders for the next academic year. You can return all books to the admin office from Monday-Friday between 8:30-16:00pm.

You can expect to receive an email fro our Librarian if you have borrowed books as a reminder to please return them. Please be informed that books returned must be the same barcode as the item number shown on the list. Every textbook has a barcode on the backside of the book. Once the book has been returned, please write the name of your child on the bag, so that we know who it belongs to. Please do not hesitate to contact Miss Mai [email protected] if you have any further questions or concerns.
We are happy to announce that an action packed summer programme for students in Years 1-9 will be on offer at HeadStart from the 6-24th of July. In light of recent events, we have reduced the price significantly in order to make it accessible to our community. Participants will be charged a flat rate of 5,000 THB per week, inclusive of lunch and activities. The day will consist of a half-day of multi-sports as well as a second block of options you can choose from that include Dance & Drama, Art & Activities, or English & EAL. Please fill in the form in the link below to indicate if you are interested in enroling your child by selecting the weeks and options of your choice.

Enzo Couture
Hi. My name is Enzo Couture and I am a former Head Boy and one of the 2018 HeadStart graduates. After taking a gap year for self-reflection, work placement, and military service, I am now studying a Doctorate degree in Chiropractics at IMU in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After an initial adjustment to moving countries and getting back into studies, I finally got the ball rolling and am getting ready for the next stage of my life. Meeting my University cohort and going through a rather unique orientation has made a wonderful memory for me. Even though I miss all of my friends and teachers at HeadStart, I am excited for what's to come and being able to come together again in the future and sharing what's up with each other. I hope everyone is safe where they are and hoping that the Covid-19 pandemic blows over soon.

When I left Phuket and came to Europe, it felt like I entered the real world. I love and miss Phuket with all my heart, but living there felt like I was isolated from reality. Since coming to Europe, I have had the chance to experience art, music, theatres, see gorgeous architecture and meet new people, all in arms reach. The ability to travel with such ease and has amazed me and as a result I have visited a new country almost every month. Another thing is that I discovered an unknown community of travellers called Couch Surfers where you meet fellow explorers and some let you stay in their homes for free. I have had the chance to study art in the magical city of Prague. I was studying a foundation diploma in Art & Design at Prague College while living with a Czech family for six months. This was a hell of an experience! I went to Venice to Celebrate my 19th birthday and fell in love with Italy. I am now thinking of moving to Rome to study Sculpture & Installation at RUFA and learn Italian. In closing I want to encourage our up and coming graduates to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy this magnificent world!

After my departure from Phuket, I returned to my home country in Ukraine and was successfully interviewed and enrolled at the private media school in the Kyiv Academy of Media Arts to study History of Arts and contemporary art. During the course of my studies I was officially employed as a part time decorator and a painter for themed sales in stores around my city. After a certain period of time I came to the realization that I want to explore my options in a different field and tried my luck in teaching. I became an English tutor for Ukrainian children at an English speaking school and have really enjoyed the experience. This led me to ending my studies in the art school so that I could focus on work. I was then faced with Covid-19 quarantine and consequently the closing of the English school which has put my teaching on pause. This unfortunate situation has motivated me to search for work online and I have since become a full time online translator translating texts from from Russian to English which has given me an opportunity to support my family at this uneasy time. I am currently in the process of organizing a summer camp with my teaching colleagues which will be an interactive two-week English camp for children. I have also been exploring job opportunities in hotel management for the summer and therefore will be moving to the Black Sea for the high season. In conclusion, this year has been an interesting adventure of self-exploration as I have worked in different spheres and tried to find what makes me happy. I do plan on continuing my studies abroad next year.

Year 3 students in Mandarin class are learning about simple Chinese characters this week and they are using creative ways to make these characters.

This week in Year 1 White, the children spent a day thinking about descriptive wow words and working as a team, to create word banks for different foods. They then used these word banks to create their own food poems. The children worked amazingly as a team and then wrote some wonderful poems. Well done. -Mr Williams
The Year 8s have been busy researching a History topic of their choosing during the lockdown. Using concepts, such as causes, perspective and significance, they had the option of either creating a scrapbook or an animation. Here’s a select few for you to enjoy. -Mr Richard Cramp
