International Day 2016 Updates

Thailand, France, Latin America, Britain, Korea, Russia, Israel, Germany, China, Taiwan and the Philippines have all confirmed displays, food, performances and national costume! International Day 2016 is looking to be our biggest and best yet! Please contact the office to book your table as there are only a few spaces left.

Important reminders:

–The performance zone has moved from the Sports Hall to the Primary playground. Many bookings are being made for stage performances. Please be sure to bring high quality tracks on a USB to the front office. Be sure to mention the name of your performance and what time you would like to perform. Performers should queue up behind the stage in preparation at 4:45 pm.

– If you are serving food and drinks please bring your own disposable dishes. It will not be possible to borrow dishes from the kitchen due to the magnitude of this event. Being an eco-friendly school we recommend that you purchase bio-degradable plates and cups.

–One of the admin staff will be on standby close to the School Shop to give a member of your country a flag for the Parade of Nations. Please designate someone tall to hold the flag in order to avoid injury to others and also to enable the flag to be visible.

–The P.E. team has prepared 4 game stations on the Football pitch that can be enjoyed by children and parents alike. Be sure to pay them a visit! Please note that under no circumstances are students allowed to access the swimming pool.

–In such a big event with so many people it is important to keep a close eye on your children at all times. Please also keep an eye on your personal belongings. The school cannot take responsibility for lost items.

Programme:

3:00—Pick up your children from class and get into costume.

4:00—Be on standby at your tables: the event begins!

4:30—Parade of Nations: begin in front of the School Shop

5:00—Performances: performers should queue up behind the stage at 4:45 in preparation.

6:30—Pack up time.

Upcoming Fundraising Events for Jo Ann

HeadStart has done a marvelous job of rallying together for a good cause. So far we have raised 150,000 Baht and only have 50,000 Baht to reach our target. Thank you to each person who has contributed. ‘Nothing the heart gives away is lost but is kept in the hearts of others.’

On the 13th of May during Flag Raising on the Football pitch, our very talented Philippino Deputies will perform a beautiful dance in honour of Jo Ann who is in need of donations for her heart operation due to take place during the summer.

On the 18th of May is Casual Clothes day. We encourage everyone to wear Jo Ann’s favourite colour: purple and to donate at least 50 Baht for this cause. Donation boxes will be set at the entrance of the school. Between 9:30-10:00 am there will be a Bake Sale in the dining room. Students are encouraged to bring baked goods from home and sell them in the dining room. All income will be donated towards Jo Ann’s operation. Please give your children some spending money for this event.

Ali Baba Practice

Rehearsals for our end of year show are in full swing. Please remember that we are rehearsing every Friday from 3:00-5:00 pm. At this stage we really need all our performers to attend every rehearsal. If you have a serious reason why you won’t be able to make a rehearsal please contact Mrs Cramp at [email protected] at least 24 hours before the rehearsal. On Friday the 13th of May there will be no rehearsal due to International Day. A letter will be sent out to parents shortly with information of extra rehearsals and the price of costumes.

After School Bus

Since there are no ASP’s on Wednesday please be informed that there will be one departure time for students at 3:10 pm. When planning your child’s afternoon schedule please remember that students attending ASP’s that end after 4:00 pm will not be able to take the school bus.

Yearbook Sponsorship

We have received a tremendous response in request for sponsorship of the 2015-2016 HeadStart Yearbook. We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our sponsors for your interest and support. The HeadStart Yearbook is due to be released late June. This is a final offer for the 3 spaces that remain. Thai Parents Meeting Invitation

We would like to invite all Thai parents to welcome a guest speaker from Bangkok, Ajarn Tanapong Kwankong, a Thai licensed psychologist who has many years of experience in training students to discover their gifts and talents and to compete in the Olympics.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday the 10th of May at 08.00-09.00 in the Primary Hall located on the Primary floor. Ajarn Tanapong will be sharing his valuable experience about how to help you child discover their passion and their talent. The meeting will be presented in Thai. We look forward to see many of you there.

House News

On Friday the 13th of May we are starting inter-House short tennis. Wear your House shirts and come and support your House during lunchtime in the Sports Hall!

Primary Student of the Month ICT

Students News

Preschool are having fun with toys and the teachers! They are doing some serious swimming in the big pool with a noodle and on their own. The little children are now starting to jump into the deep pool with lots of confidence and style! Ms Fiona Whittaker

Students in Year 5 have been studying about the properties of materials and made their own non-Newtonian fluid - otherwise known as slime. Is it a solid or is it a liquid? They had fun trying to work that I’ve out! Stephen Brady and Katie Axford

This term, Year 9 History students are putting their investigative skills to the test by critically analyzing sources in order to solve the question: “Who Shot JFK?”. As historians, they must research and organise video clips, audio files, documents, witness testimonies and a myriad of other sources to produce a report that questions well known conspiracy theories in order to give their own opinion of the events. Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award: kayaking and overnight camping expedition on the 12-13th March.

Thai Department News

The Year 5 students have learned about making sentences in Thai. This has helped a lot with their speaking and writing.

The Year 4 Thai Intermediate class have been talking about their last holiday .We practiced how to write short paragraph with the title of ‘My Holiday’ and read for the whole class. The students did very well and students were so pleased and happy to hear story from another friends.

Early Years students enjoyed a fun time when we were talking about my favorite fruit which they had to find the picture that were hiding somewhere in the class.

Swimming News

Our swimmers will attend a very prestigious event called the Flying Fish SE Asia International Schools Competition. This will be held at BISP and we wish all our swimmers the best of luck.

Football News

Our Footballers are in action at BISP on Saturday as they play their penultimate match in the Senior Boys Football League. This will be a tough challenge for our boys against the league leaders (BISP) but we wish them all the best. Kick-off is at 9:30 am. Please don’t be late.

ขณะนี้ทางโรงเรียนได้รับคำยืนยันการเข้าร่วมจัดบูธอาหาร, การแสดง และแต่งกายประจำชาติจากผู้ปกครองจากประเทศดังต่อไปนี้ ไทย, ฝรั่งเศส, ลาติน อเมริกา, อังกฤษ, เกาหลี, รัสเซีย, อิสราเอล, เยอรมัน, จีน, ไต้หวัน, และ ฟิลิปินส์ ท่านสามารถติดต่อสอบถามเพื่อจองโต๊ะได้ที่แผนกต้อนรับของโรงเรียน ซึ่งขณะนี้มีโต๊ะว่างไม่มากแล้ว

ข้อควรปฏิบัติที่สำคัญ

-เนื่องจากมีผู้ทำจองเวทีเพื่อใช้ในการแสดงมาก จึงขอความร่วมมือให้ท่านเซฟเพลงหรือสื่อเพื่อการแสดงของท่านมาใน USB ที่มีคุณภาพ แล้วนำมาให้แผนกต้อนรับ ที่สำคัญต้องระบุชื่อการแสดง เวลาที่ต้องการแสดง นักแสดงจะต้องเข้าคิวและเตรียมความพร้อมหลังเวทีในเวลา 17.00 น.

-ด้านการบริการอาหารและเครื่องดื่มโรงเรียนขอให้ท่านนำภาชนะใช้แล้วทิ้งมาเอง เนื่องจากขนาดของงานที่ค่อนข้างใหญ่ในครัวของเราจึงไม่สามารถให้บริการยืมและไม่มีอุปกรณ์และภาชนะเหล่านี้เพียงพอ และเนื่องจากโรงเรียนของเรารณรงค์เพื่อเป็นโรงเรียนที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมดังนั้นโรงเรียนขอความร่วมมือให้ท่านใช้ภาชนะใช้แล้วทิ้งที่ทำจากวัสดุที่ย่อยสลายได้ bio-degradable

-ในวันงานท่านสามารถส่งคนมารับธงประจำชาติของท่านเพื่อใช้ในการเดินขบวนได้ที่บริเวณหน้าร้านค้าของโรงเรียน (School shop)ซึ่งจะมีเจ้าหน้าที่แผนกธุรการรอจัดธงให้ แนะนำว่าผู้ถือธงควรเป็นคนที่ค่อนข้างสูงซึ่งเมื่อถือธงแล้วธงของท่านจะสามารถมองเห็นได้ชัดเจน และควรเป็นผู้ที่มีความระมัดระวังเพื่อหลีกเลี่ยงอันตรายจากการที่อาจทำให้ธงพลาดไปโดนผู้อื่นบาดเจ็บ

-แผนกการกีฬา (P.E.Team) ได้เตรียมเกมส์ไว้ทั้งหมด 4 ฐานเพื่อให้ผู้ปกครองและนักเรียนได้เข้าร่วมสนุกกันที่สนามฟุตบอล และโรงเรียนของย้ำอย่างเคร่งครัดเรื่องความปลอดภัยว่า ไม่อนุญาตให้นักเรียนเข้าไปในบริเวณสระว่ายน้ำเป็นอันขาด

-เนื่องจากงานนี้เป็นงานที่ใหญ่ มีผู้คนร่วมงานมากมาย ดังนั้นโรงเรียนจึงเห็นว่ามีความสำคัญอย่างมากที่ผู้ปกครองจะต้องดูแลเด็กๆให้อยู่ในสายตาอย่างใกล้ชิดตลอดเวลา อีกทั้งโปรดดูแลและเก็บของมีค่าของท่านไว้กับตัวตลอดเวลา เพราะหากเกิดการสูญหายโรงเรียนไม่สามารถรับผิดชอบในส่วนนี้ได้

โปรแกรมงาน

• 15.00 น. ผู้ปกครองรับนักเรียนจากห้องเรียนเพื่อไปแต่งตัว

• 16.00 น. เข้าประจำที่โต๊ะของท่าน / งานเริ่ม

• 16.30 น. ขบวนพาเหรด /เริ่มเดินจากหน้าร้านค้าของโรงเรียน

• 17.00 น. ชมการแสดง / นักแสดงต้องเข้าประจำที่หลังเวทีเพื่อเตรียมความพร้อม

• 18.30 น. งานสิ้นสุด

วันและเวลาฝึกซ้อมการแสดง Ali Baba Practice

โรงเรียนขอความร่วมมือจากนักแสดงทุกคนให้เข้าร่วมฝึกซ้อมการแสดงสำหรับงานปิดภาคเรียนประจำปีในทุกวันศุกร์ เวลา 15.00 น. – 17.00 น. หากมีเหตุจำเป็นที่ไม่สามารถมาร่วมฝึกซ้อมได้ขอให้แจ้ง Mrs. Cramp ทราบอย่างน้อย24 ชั่วโมงก่อนการฝึกซ้อมที่อีเมล์ [email protected] สำหรับในวันศุกร์ที่ 13 พ.ค.ของดซ้อมเนื่องจากมีงานวันนานาชาติ (International Day) ในส่วนของจดหมายแจ้งผู้ปกครองสำหรับวันซ้อมเพิ่มเติมและราคาเครื่องแต่งกายจะได้ทำการส่งออกในเร็วๆนี้

รถโรงเรียน After School Bus

เนื่องจากในวันพุธไม่มีการเรียนการสอนเสริมพิเศษ ASP ดังนั้นรถโรงเรียนจะออกจากโรงเรียนในรอบเวลา 15.10 น.เท่านั้น แต่หากนักเรียนคนไหนที่มีเรียนพิเศษในวันดังกล่าวแล้วเลิกหลัง 16.00 น. ขอให้ผู้ปกครองวางแผนมารับนักเรียนหลังเลิกเรียนด้วย

Yearbook Sponsorship

HeadStart ขอขอบพระคุณผู้ที่ให้การตอบรับเข้าเป็นผู้สนับสนุน (sponsorship) หนังสือรุ่น (Yearbook)ในปี 2015-2016 ทุกท่านเป็นอย่างสูง และขอรายงานความคืบหน้าให้ทราบว่าYearbook จะจัดทำแล้วเสร็จในช่วงปลายเดือนมิถุนายนนี้
สำหรับผู้ที่สนใจจะเข้าร่วมเป็นผู้สนับสนุน (sponsorship) ในขณะโรงเรียนยังคงเปิดรับอีก 3 sponsorship หากท่านใดสนใจสามารถติดต่อสอบถามได้ที่แผนกต้อนรับของโรงเรียน
