Bridging Course

Welcome from the Director of Studies

Thank you for showing an interest in the HeadStart ‘Bridging School’. We have put together a programme of lessons for the whole of Term 3 which will allow students the chance to begin the process of integrating into the mainstream school ready for the start of the 2018/2019 academic year.

All lessons taught throughout the bridging school will be delivered by fully qualified teachers, some who have been brought in specifically to support this course, and others who have been part of the HeadStart teaching team for many years. Students joining the programme will follow a timetable similar to that of a student in the mainstream classes in Years 3-7 and have the opportunity to use all of the school’s extensive facilities during this time. In addition, several of the classes will be with the students already enrolled at HeadStart. The timetables and information about the core curriculum we are using can be found in this booklet.

On a weekly basis, students will study several hours of the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science, as well as upto five hours of First Language Thai. They will also have lessons in Art, Music, Computing, Physical Education, Dance and Drama, giving a truly broad and balanced curriculum, that we believe will “Inspire a love of Learning”.

I look forward to your child joining the school and I truly believe that bridging school will give a good introduction and enable your child to be fully prepared when they join HeadStart. Kind Regards

Adam Drew Director of Studies
