Enrichment Programme

Here at HeadStart the opportunities for further learning and development are endless. Early Years and Reception children are welcomed to join our enrichment programme 2:30 – 3:20pm from Monday to Thursday and from 2:30-3:00pm on Friday. The children will have the opportunity to play, explore and practice the skills they have been devolving. There is no need to commit to this, just sign them up on the sign in sheet in the morning when you drop them at school! See our exciting enrichment programme timetable…

Early Years Funky Fingers Stories and Rhymes Let’s pretend in the play centre Music and Movement Thursday Magical Movies
Early Years will have an opportunity to strengthen their fine motor and pre-writing skills by participating in activities such as dough gym, tweezer games and creating crafts with fine details. The children will join Miss Hannah in the Indoor Play centre for some stories and rhymes. This enhances their literacy, communication and language skills, as well as their abilities in expressive arts and design. The teachers will assist the children with initiating pretend play with games. It may follow the topics in class or it may be child-initiated based on their own interests. The children will be developing their expression through movement. Some of the songs will have been memorised already (e.g. Baby Shark!). As the year goes on we will develop their repertoire. The children get a chance to enjoy a movie linked to their theme (for example, if the topic theme is Dinosaurs we will be watching Land Before Time.)
