My name is Charlotte Atkinson and I am the Year 5 White Homeroom teacher at HeadStart International School. I am originally from Wakefield, England and I began my teaching journey at Leeds Metropolitan University, where my dissertation focus was investigating the most effective and successful ways of teaching students who have English as an additional language. After working as a primary school teacher in England since qualifying with my teaching degree, I applied for this international teaching post in order to combine my two passions; travelling and teaching. I feel incredibly passionate about the inclusion and equality of all learners and throughout the course of this year I aim to inspire the students at HeadStart International School to develop a love of learning. I am committed to creating a safe, challenging, stimulating and positive learning environment, and have high expectations for the children I teach. I will work hard to ensure they are confident, independent and happy learners who are not afraid to take risks and face challenges with resilience and enthusiasm. I am thankful and excited to be a part of the HeadStart team and I am very much looking forward to embarking on a new year of discovery and learning throughout the next academic year.
