My name is Duncan I am from the UK and grew up in the Stevenage 50 Km north of London. I moved to Portsmouth on the south coast where I went to University and studied Product Design and Innovation. I then moved to Brighton University to study my teaching degree. I taught in England for four years and then decided teaching in international schools was the life for me. I have taught in Malawi in Africa for three years and previously to coming to HeadStart I taught in New Zealand. I am a great believer in independent learning and in providing students with opportunities to think for themselves, to solve challenges and problems they may face. I am a keen Sportsman, my favorite sport being rugby; however I do enjoy cricket, cycling, football and diving also. I would like to get into SUP boarding and volleyball in Thailand. I love the great outdoors and enjoy hiking and mountain climbing and will be working to help students achieve there Duke of Edinburgh award. I am looking forward to getting started this academic year at school and making Design and Technology the best subject in the school! Hopefully you are going to see lots of changes in the department over the next few years and make lots of exciting projects.
