My name is Ishmael and I am originally from North-West London in the UK. I studied Accounting and Finance at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Wales. After completing my degree I realised that I wanted to work with young people and develop my passion for teaching. My first role in teaching was in 2012 when I worked with young French students teaching English as a second language at a summer camp in Shrewsbury in the UK. This was an amazing experience which natured my love for teaching. I then worked as a voluntary Mathematics teacher at an International school in South-West India, which I found to be extremely rewarding. I then worked as a teaching assistant at a secondary school in South London, these experiences ultimately prepared and motivated me to go on to study for my PGCE in Business Education at the Institute of Education – UCL in London. I have spent the past 3 years teaching Business Studies at an inner London secondary school in the UK. My experiences of teaching has also allowed me to work with young people from all backgrounds and walks of life. I am passionate and enthusiastic about my subject and wish to transfer this onto my students through my teaching. As well as support students in developing aspirations in pursuing future career paths linked to Business. Outside of teaching I enjoy travelling and exploring new cultures, keeping physically active whether that involves going to the gym or playing sports. I am certainly looking forward to trying out Muay Thai and the water sports on offer here in Phuket. I also enjoy cooking and being outdoors surrounded by nature. I am excited to be commencing my first year at HeadStart and am really looking forward to making a contribution to all aspects of school life.
