My name is Lucie and I am very excited to be continuing my teaching journey at Headstart International School this year! I am from the United Kingdom and grew up in a small town in the Midlands called Nuneaton. I loved school and always dreamed of being a teacher. I couldn’t be happier in my chosen career. It really is a joy to teach your lovely children! I have lots of experience in working with children, not only in teaching but in other ways too. I have worked in management in children’s play centers and also lead summer play schemes. I also taught children from 5 to 18 years old in at a language school in China. I studied at Liverpool John Moores University and gained a degree in Physical Geography. I returned to Derby University in 2010 to complete my PGCE Primary Education with a PE specialism. Before moving to beautiful Phuket I worked as a Year 1 teacher for four years in a large infant school in Derby, UK. I love working with Year 1 children, and helping them to transition from their foundation education. It is such an important year group for the children and I am passionate about helping them to adapt to their new Key Stage. My goal in teaching is making sure that all of the children are happy and safe, and that they love to learn.
