Hello and sawadee krap. My name is Paul Williams and this will be my third year teaching outside of England. I was born in Glasgow, Scotland but grew up in the south of England, close to London. I am excited about the upcoming academic year and look forward to meeting you all. I graduated in Business Studies at the University of Greenwich in 2001. I worked in the business sector in London for around 4 years. I then completed a Primary PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University and graduated in December 2005. Before moving to Thailand, I spent 11 years working in and around the east of London. I value the role that I hold and take great pride in the work that I do. I believe that being a teacher gives me the opportunity to develop children and ensure that they all meet their full potential. I like my learning environment to be vibrant and stimulating and a place that celebrates the pupils learning. I believe that it is important to develop independence and resilience in the children I teach. It is important that the children have fun at school because this will lead to them being engaged in their learning. I expect children to learn to reflect on their own learning and to set themselves goals for the future. I feel that good working relationships are key to success. I have a love of travelling and have been lucky to visit a number of places since moving to Thailand, including the Gili islands, Lombok and Bali. I have even climbed volcanoes, dived with sea turtles and photographed the Milky Way! I like to eat unusual food and even got the chance to go hunting for wild frogs in the jungle in Khao Sok….they were delicious! As previously said, I am excited about the year ahead and if you ever need to speak to me about any matters then I am always available to sit down and discuss these with you.
