My name is Sam and I began teaching Art and Design at Headstart International School in 2019. I was born in a small town called Lytham St. Annes on the North West coast of England. In 2013 I began a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design at Leeds Beckett University where I also gained a place on a set design for live music and performance internship in Norway. I continued further study here in order to gain a PGCE in Art and Design secondary education where I experienced teaching in a wide variety of schools. On completing my degree, I worked at a small inner city secondary school in Rotherham and was positioned as acting head of department before I decided to move to Thailand. I pride myself in forming meaningful relationships with each of my pupils, in order to help them produce personal outcomes in art projects that send them on a creative journey that they are truly interested in. I am also hoping to use my previous skills in set design and theatrical make up to inspire more pupils to take part in the school productions. In my spare time I enjoy listening to all kinds of music and attending live music concerts. Since moving to Thailand I have also acquired a love of travelling but when not out exploring, I can usually be found watching the football as I am a huge Liverpool fan. I look forward to what the future has to offer at Headstart and am excited to continue building on the strong relationships I have acquired so far with students, staff and parents.
