My name is Kirsty and I am now entering my fifth year of teaching at the primary level, the majority of which has been in Key Stage One which I absolutely love. I am from the North West of England and grew up in the city of Manchester. I studied at The University of Leeds in Yorkshire, gaining a degree in History and Sociology, before returning to The University of Manchester to complete my PGCE with the TeachFirst graduate programme. I love being in the classroom and I am very passionate about developing positive relationships with pupils and providing creative and engaging learning opportunities. I aim to inspire a love of learning within children and develop inquisitive and creative learners who are keen to investigate and ask questions throughout their learning journey. Through creating both a safe and challenging learning environment, I am also keen to develop resilient learners with a commitment to overcoming challenges with the support and collaboration of both their peers and teachers. I believe it is vital to provide children with a wealth of experiences and opportunities in order for them to flourish in all areas of the curriculum. I have a passion for reading and am keen to install my love of reading and stories within the pupils. I was also able to continue my passion for my degree subject of History in my last position as humanities lead, and am therefore very much looking forward to teaching a rich and creative humanities curriculum at HeadStart. Outside of the classroom I love to travel, and as this is my first time to Phuket, I am extremely excited to explore the area and visit all the amazing places that this beautiful island has to offer. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and I look forward to the pleasure of teaching your children and getting to know you all.

I am Maripet Victoria from the Northern part of Philippines. I lived in a town named La Trinidad, just 6 kilometers away from the “Summer Capital” of Philippines which is Baguio City. I studied at Benguet State University with a degree in Secondary Education. I worked as an Online English Tutor for 4 years after graduating. After that, I worked as a Violin and Basic Piano Teacher at a Music School, at church, and as a private tutor for about 5 years. Though I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, my work experience gave me an opportunity to work with different age groups from ages 3 to 49. Those experiences made me understand the true meaning of teaching and learning and that is, age does not matter in learning and in teaching, as long as we have the passion for it, we are able to accomplish so much. This year, I am given an opportunity to work as one of the Deputy Teachers of Headstart. I am very excited to learn more and be able to share what I’ve learned.
