Teaching Styles and Philosophy
Students are encouraged to learn independently in all lessons. There is a strong focus on ‘Assessment for Learning’ in all lessons with peer and self assessment skills actively developed. Every half term the activities change so students follow a very broad and balanced curriculum.
In Key stage four students are actively encouraged to lead and coach parts of lessons where appropriate. IGCSE P.E. is also offered and is a very popular subject.
‘Children made good progress with their physical development through specialist PE lessons and play. They confidently and safely show good control and coordination. Adults provide planned group activities that are often student led.’ Education Development Trust (EDT) Accreditation Report, June 2017
