Weekly Update 1

On behalf of the entire HeadStart International staff, welcome back to school! We hope you had an excellent and relaxing summer. We are looking forward to a school year filled with learning and growth.

Again, welcome, and we cannot wait to make this school year the best yet!

Friday School Assemblies

Today marked our first all school assembly. Students and teachers stood in respect of the Thai National Anthem as well as the English National Anthem.

The following students were acknowledged for their athletic successes during the summer break:

Ladda Damdaeng (Newle) in Year 9 won the Silver prize (2nd place) in the Female/ Under 14/ 48 kilo Judo category organised by the Royal Thai Air force. Congratulations to Newle!

James van Herzeele in Year 6 won 1st place in all Clay court tennis competitions in Deist, Belgium and participated in the Thanyapura Tennis Competition. Well done James!

Louise Landgraaf from Reception won 2nd place in the Tacola Championship Tournament swimming competition in Phang Nga. Congratulations!

Flag Raising/All school Assembly takes place every Friday morning at 8:00 am. Students are expected to assemble at the Football pitch and line up quietly in preparation for the Thai National Anthem as well as the anthem of another country. Typically there are announcements made and awards handed out at this time.

Preschool Department Receives Top Award!

Today was an exciting day for our Preschool/Nursery Team. There are currently 31 Nurseries registered in Phuket under the Phuket Office of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Today, the Phuket governor, Maitri Intisut formally awarded the HeadStart Nursery as one of only 4 nurseries in Phuket to receive the “Outstanding Nursery” award for 2013.

The three other nurseries receiving the award were Kanokkwan Nursery, Suanluang Nursery, Phuket International Kingdergarten School. This makes HeadStart the only international school in Phuket to have received the award this year.

Congratulations to our Preschool / Nursery Team for their efforts, care and diligence!

Congratulations to our Year 11 students! Although not all of them could make it to the ceremony we are very proud of each one that attended!

A special thank you to the Blue Elephant for hosting our event. The food and set up was fabulous!

After School Update

Due to some changes, mainly in the academic sector, the After School programmes starting date will be postponed until Monday, September 9th.

School Band Audition Information

Band Auditions Update!!!

Extended Auditions have been organized for HeadStart bands.Sept 5th– 3.30-5.30 guitar and bassSept 6th– 3.30-5.30 keyboard, drums and vocals.

Please be informed that your child will need to bring his/her own instruments for these auditions. Drums will be provided.

Uniforms

We apologise for any inconvenience caused due to lack of uniform stock. We are currently working with our uniform supplier to improve the ongoing issues that we have had with lack of availability in sizes, stitching and stock. We expect the next shipment of stock to arrive within one month. During this time, students will be given leniency for not wearing the correct uniform.

If you have already purchased uniforms with stitching defects, please return them to our staff and we will mend them free of charge.

HeadStart Privilege Card

Headstart is happy to present a School Privilege Card to the parents for the 2013-2014 academic school year. You can check the participating brands in the school website by following this link: http://headstartphuket.com/school/qrcode/

1.) Parents who have paid their child’s school fees one year in advance.
