CfBT’s visit update by Mr. Jazon Edouard ———————————————
I am glad to be able to announce that we have successfully concluded our second visit with Mike Hewlett, our assigned consultant for the school’s accreditation with CfBT. CfBT is one of the largest school accreditation organisation in the UK with over 2000 staff and offices in 30 countries. CfBT is responsible for the accreditation of over 30% of primary and secondary schools in the UK and is regarded as one of the highest benchmarks for educational institutions in England.
I want to thank all of the parents who took time to meet with Mike to discuss the school’s educational programmes and the changes and improvements which we have made and continue to strive make on a daily basis. I also want to thank each of our management, teachers, assistants and staff who have worked tirelessly during this term, to make all of the changes and improvements we have seen become a reality. All of the hard work and extra hours and days spent on improving the school and our educational programmes have paid off and Mike says he is confident that our school is currently on the right trajectory to pass our accreditation visit in 2014.
I look forward to continuing to work with all of you students, parents and staff as we strive to make HeadStart a truly outstanding school.

HeadStart’s Pick Up policy ——————————
As a reminder, please do not pick up other students from school other than your own children unless you have informed the teacher and parents of the change. There have been a few instances where parents have kindly offered to take someone else’s child to a football match or for a play date without informing the parents of the children involved or the Homeroom teacher. This has caused panic and stress for all involved and is not in accordance with HeadStart’s Pick Up policy.
P.E. Department Announcements–Ms Jenny Campbell —————————————————-
1.) Starting Monday the 26th of November, the Year 3-6 swimming lessons will change to athletics lessons. Students will no longer need to pack a swimming kit. Transport will be provided to Surakun Stadium for this class. Students should wear their P.E. kits and trainers.
2.) We would like to remind other students to bring their swimming kit for lessons and remember to wear trainers for P.E.! Some students are forgetting their kit too often and some are still arriving to PE in inappropriate footwear that is unsafe to run in (i.e. jelly shoes/school shoes, etc.).
3.) Sports Day will be held this term on Thursday 13th December, 2012.
Student Council visits the GS charity to donate 200 kilos of rice ———————————————————————-
The Student Council had the privilege of going to deliver 200 kilos of rice to the Good Shepherd Charity on the 14th of November during their lunch break. The students from the GS school thanked us in 4 different languages and gave us lovely cards in appreciation for our efforts. Well done Student Council!
Cheer Leading Classes ————————-
HeadStart is trying to build up a Cheer Leading team that can help promote the school at sporting events not only at the school but also at other events in Phuket. For this reason we are offering kids the opportunity to audition for the Cheer Leading club. Once the students have been accepted we will organise the exact dates and times of the classes.

Details: Samantha Wilson from the UK will be the Cheer Leading coach. Practices will take place during lunch breaks 1 time a week, in 2 sessions, until we can find a better time. The Cheer Leaders will need a small section of the pitch to practice on. No charge will be made to the student.
If your child is interested in signing up for the Cheer Leading club please encourage them to put their names on the posters hanging on the school boards and to keep checking for information on when the classes will start.
Football tournament in December ————————————
We are happy to announce that HeadStart has been invited to join the JSSL Arsenal Phuket 7’s Soccer Tournament on December the 16th, 2012! Please see the following information and contact Coach JR for more info at [email protected]:
· When – Sunday December 16
· Where – British International School, Phuket
· Age Groups – u9’s, u11’s, u13’s, u15’s, Over 15’s Boys & Over 15’s Girls
· Matches – 7’aside games, 15 min games, min of 5 matches per team
· Fees – no cost for local Phuket teams
· Medals for all players and teams

กระผมมีความยินดีที่จะแจ้งให้ทุกท่านทราบว่า โรงเรียนของเราได้เสร็จสิ้นการตรวจเยี่ยมโรงเรียน รอบที่ 2 จากคุณ ไมค์ ฮิวเล็ตต์ เจ้าหน้าที่จาก CfBT เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว CfBT เป็นหนึ่งในองค์กรที่ประเมินโรงเรียนนานาชาติที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศอังกฤษ มีพนักงานเป็นจำนวนกว่า 2,000 คน ใน 30 ประเทศ CfBT รับผิดชอบงานประกันคุณภาพการศึกษาของโรงเรียนในประเทศอังกฤษ คิดเป็น 30% โรงเรียนจากจำนวนโรงเรียนทั้งหมดในสหราชอาณาจักร และได้รับการยอมรับว่าเป็นหนึ่งในองค์กรประเมินโรงเรียนที่มีคุณภาพแห่งหนึ่งในประเทศอังกฤษ
กระผมต้องขอขอบคุณผู้ปกครองทุกท่านที่เสียสละเวลาอันมีค่าเข้าร่วมประชุมและพบปะกับคุณไมค์ เพื่อร่วมปรึกษาหารือเกี่ยวกับการจัดการเรียนการสอน การเปลี่ยนแปลง และพัฒนาการต่างๆที่ทางโรงเรียนได้มุ่งมั่นพัฒนามาโดยตลอด และยังคงเดินหน้าที่จะทำให้เต็มความสามารถ เพื่อสร้างสรรค์สังคมแห่งการศึกษาที่น่าอยู่ให้ทุกคน รวมทั้งต้องขอขอบคุณทีมบริหารโรงเรียน คณะครู ครูผู้ช่วย และพนักงานทุกท่านที่ทำงานกันอย่างเต็มความสามารถ ทางคุณไมค์มั่นใจว่า โรงเรียนของเราได้ดำเนินงานมาถูกทางแล้ว และมีความพร้อมเพื่อรับการประเมินคุณภาพอย่างเต็มรูปแบบในปี 2557 อันใกล้นี้

นโยบายการรับส่งนักเรียน —————————
ตามที่ได้แจ้งไปแล้ว ขอความกรุณาผู้ปกครองอย่ารับนักเรียนที่ไม่ใช่บุตรหลานของตนเองโดยไม่ได้แจ้งให้กับครูประจำชั้นทราบล่วงหน้า ที่ผ่านมาเกิดเหตุการณ์ในลักษณะนี้ขึ้น เนื่องจากผู้ปกครองอีกท่านหนึ่งรับนักเรียนไปชมฟุตบอลโดยไม่ได้แจ้งให้ผู้ปกครองและครูประจำชั้นของนักเรียนคนนั้นทราบล่วงหน้า ทำให้สร้างความตื่นตระหนกและเป็นกังวลใจแก่ทุกๆฝ่าย
ประกาศจากฝ่ายกีฬา ———————

ตั้งแต่วันจันทร์ ที่ 26 พ.ย. เป็นต้นไป ในคาบเรียนว่ายน้ำของนักเรียนชั้น Year 3-6 จะมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปเรียนกรีฑา นักเรียนไม่ต้องนำชุดว่ายน้ำมาอีก และจะมีรถรับส่งนักเรียนไปยังสนามกีฬาสุระกุลเมื่อถึงคาบเรียน ขอให้นักเรียนทุกคนใส่ชุดพละตามปกติ

ขอให้นักเรียนทุกคนใส่ชุดพละมาในวันที่มีเรียนพละศึกษามาให้เรียบร้อย เพื่อความปลอดภัยและความคล่องตัวในการออกกำลังกาย ยังมีนักเรียนบางส่วนไม่เห็นความสำคัญและยังสวมรองเท้าแตะมาเรียน ซึ่งอาจก่อให้เกิดอุบัติเหตุได้

ทางโรงเรียนได้กำหนดวันแข่งขันกีฬาสีโรงเรียนขึ้นในวันพฤหัสบดี ที่ 13 ธ.ค. 2555 มนส่วนของสถานที่จัดกิจกรรมจะแจ้งให้ทราบอีกครั้งหนึ่ง
เชียร์ลีดเดอร์ ——————
ทางโรงเรียนกำลังมองหานักเรียนที่สนใจเข้าร่วมทีมเชียร์ลีดเดอร์โรงเรียนเพื่อร่วมทำกิจกรรมและแสดงความสามารถในการแข่งขันกีฬาตามสถานที่ต่างๆในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ทางโรงเรียนจึงได้จัดให้มีการคัดเลือกนักเรียนเพื่อเข้าร่วมทีม เมื่อได้นักเรียนครบตามจำนวนแล้ว จึงจะสามารถจัดวันและเวลาเพื่อฝึกซ้อมต่อไป การฝึกซ้อมแบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มที่ 1 นักเรียนชั้น Year 4,5,6 และ กลุ่มที่ 2 นักเรียนชั้น Year 7,8,9
คุณซาแมนต้า วิลสัน ชาวอังกฤษจะเข้ามาเป็นโค้ชช่วยฝึกซ้อมนักเรียนในเวลาพักเที่ยง 1 ครั้ง ต่อสัปดาห์ 2ช่วงคือพักเที่ยงกลุ่มที่ 1 และกลุ่มที่ 2 จนกว่าเราจะสามารถหาเวลาที่เหมาะสมได้ นักเรียนที่เข้าร่วมทีมเชียร์ลีดเดอร์อาจจะต้องฝึกซ้อมในช่วงพักเที่ยงตรงสนามฟุตบอล กิจกรรมนี้ไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆทั้งสิ้น หากนักเรียนสนใจที่จะเข้าร่วม สามารถลงชื่อสมัครได้ที่บอร์ดประชาสัมพันธ์ที่จะแจ้งให้ทราบเร็วๆนี้

นโยบาย** One Tablet Per Child ของรัฐบาล ———————————————
ตามที่ทางรัฐบาลไทยได้มีนโยบายแจกคอมพิวเตอร์ Tablet แก่นักเรียนชั้น ป.1 ทั่วประเทศให้นักเรียนไทยทุกคนที่มีเลขบัตรประจำตัวประชาชน 13 หลัก (ในโรงเรียนระบบอังกฤษคือเทียบเท่า Year 2) สำหรับเป็นอุปกรณ์ช่วยในการเรียนการสอน บัดนี้ทางโรงเรียนของเราได้รับเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ Tablet เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว และอยู่ในระหว่างการตรวจสอบความเรียบร้อย คาดว่าจะสามารถใช้ประกอบการเรียนการสอนในภาษาไทยได้เร็วๆนี้
ในการนี้จึงขอเรียนเชิญผู้ปกครองที่มีบุตรหลานศึกษาอยู่ในระดับชั้น Year 2 ทุกท่าน เข้าร่วมประชุมพร้อมกัน ในวันอังคาร ที่ 4 ธ.ค. 2555 เวลา 08.00 น.– 10.00 น. ณ ห้องสมุด เพื่อทำความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับนโยบายของรัฐบาล วิธีการใช้งาน Tablet และเพื่อส่งมอบเครื่อง Tablet ให้แก่ผู้ปกครอง เพื่อให้นักเรียนสามารถนำเครื่องไปใช้งานได้ทั้งที่บ้านและที่โรงเรียน หากท่านไม่สามารถเข้าร่วมประชุมได้ ทางโรงเรียนจะไม่ส่งมอบเครื่องในวันนั้น ขอให้ท่านติดต่อคุณครูนิด เพื่อลงชื่อรับเครื่องเป็นลายลักษณ์อักษรต่อไป
