Bake Sale Initiative to Raise Funds for Khru Sa

Students from Year 10 organised a Bake Sale to raise money for our Thai teacher, Kru Sa, who is in Vachira hospital. The idea, organisation and implementation of the Bake Sale came completely from the students.

We are proud to announce that they raised over 3,000 baht in just 15 minutes!

Announcing the Year 11 2014-2015 Prefects, by Paul Kennedy, Pastoral Care**

We are pleased to announce the following students and their places of responsibility:

The Year 11 Prefect duties include a lunch duty from 12.15 -12.30. In addition to this, the Prefects can give out detentions to students who break school rules or are behaving inappropriately. Prefects are called upon to help teachers with various tasks when the need arises.

‘Buddy’ system at HeadStart, by Paul Kennedy, pastoral Care in Secondary

HeadStart has begun a buddying system for students. The buddying system is in its second week and seems to be working well.

The buddying system has two strands.

1.) Buddies within Year 7 and for new students. Students in year 7 and new students are buddies up with a student in their homeroom.

2.) The second strand is Year 11 Prefects are buddied up with year 7 students.

The roles of a buddy are:

• Be a role model - Following school rules - Practical help - Have Patience

Thai Parents Weekly Meeting—Year 1 Standards by Khru Sue, Head of Thai teachers

On the 8 of September, the management team gave a presentation to the Thai parents of Year 1 students on the topics of language selection, spelling, streaming classes and the HeadStart homework policy. Parents who attend these meetings are significantly more likely to understand the school targets and be involved in their children’s education.

We would like to invite the Year 7 parents to a meeting on Tuesday, the 16th of September from 8.30-9.30 in the library. There will be a presentation about homework books, laptops, social media, lockers, homework and after school classes (Booster Courses) from the Thai management team. We look forward to seeing you.

Learning about the Body ** by Kru Dia

Reception students have been learning about the parts of the body and students are able to play jigsaw games by cutting, gluing and sticking the parts on paper. Students are able to present their work in front of the class. The teacher has encouraged the students to name each part of the body in Thai.

Thai dance club Invitation

Thai Department would like to invite Thai students who would like to learn Thai dancing to join the club every Tuesday. The class starts on the 15 of September at 3.15 to 4.45. If you are interested please contact kru Sue directly.

Thanyapura Results from last week, by Tladi Small, Head of P.E. Department

Last Saturday the HeadStart Panthers competed in the SuperKidz Aquathlon at Thanyapura

The race was a great chance for the young and old of any fitness level to have a go at short, fun distances. There was also a team relay category with teams of two competitors including one swimmer and one runner. It was an amazing morning of competition in between the rain. The HeadStart Panthers did amazingly well.

Individual success came for

• Sam Stowe - Second Place in the 7 year olds - Sean Corley - Third Place in the 6 year olds

Lucy Mester & Emmie Parsons – First Place Intermediate Age group

Jamie Aagren & Joseph Parsons – Second Place Intermediate Age group

This was a wonderful day for all involved and we would to congratulate all the Panthers for their hard work and effort.

The U8 students are invited to play casual Football Friendlies with the BIS, Darasamut and Bangneaw schools this coming Saturday from 8:30-2:00 pm. Students should arrive at HeadStart at 8:00 am in order to prepare for the games.

จากแรงบันดาลใจสู่การร่วมใจกันทำขนมขายเพื่อหาเงินสมทบทุนช่วยค่ารักษาพยาบาลแก่”ครูสา”

Melanie Challe, Angela Fahey, Athena Butler และ Michela Di Cecco จากชั้น Year 10 ร่วมกันทำขนมเค็กและคุกกี้ขาย เพื่อหาเงินสมทบทุนช่วยค่ารักษาพยาบาลให้กับ “ครูสา” ซึ่งยังนอนรักษาตัวอยู่ที่โรงพยาบาลวชิระฯ นักเรียนเป็นคนริเริ่ม ทั้งความคิด การร่วมมือและการดำเนินการ ดังกล่าวเองทั้งหมด

เราภาคภูมิใจเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ที่จะแจ้งให้ทุกๆท่านทราบว่า พวกเค้าขายขนมนี้ ได้เงินกว่า 3000 บาท ในแวลาแค่ 15 นาที !

นักเรียน Year 7 ได้แสดงเรื่องการอ้าแขนรับเพื่อนใหม่ในโรงเรียน ให้รู้สึกอบอุ่น พวกเค้าใช้ช่วงเวลาพัก ในการจัดเตรียมการและฝึกซ้อมการแสดงดังกล่าวร่วมกันทุกๆคน ซึ่งยอดเยี่ยมมาก

ครู James Barker สอนวิชา ICT ในระดับมัธยม

ผมชื่อ ครู James Barker ได้สอนที่โรงเรียนนี้มาเป็นปีที่ 2 แล้ว ผมเกิดที่ประเทศอังกฤษและ เติบโตในเมืองเล็กๆ ชื่อ Ashford

ขอแนะนำหัวหน้านักเรียน และหน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบของพวกเค้า

หน้าที่ของหัวหน้านักเรียน Year 11 นั้นต้องคอยดูแลความเรียบร้อยช่วงอาหารกลางวัน เวลา 12:15-12:30 นอกเหนือไปจากที่มีอำนาจหน้าที่สั่งทำโทษนักเรียนที่ทำผิดระเบียบของโรงเรียน หรือประพฤติตนไม่เหมาะสมกับสถานะภาพนักเรียน หัวหน้านักเรียนยังจะให้ความช่วยเหลือครูในหลายๆเรื่องที่จำเป็น

ระบบเพื่อนคู่หู ที่โรงเรียน เฮดสตาร์ท โดย Paul Kennedy, pastoral Care in Secondary

ทางโรงเรียนได้เริ่มจัดระบบเพื่อนคู่หูให้กับนักเรียน ซึ่งได้ทำมาได้เป็นสัปดาห์ที่ 2 แล้ว ดูท่าทางไปได้ราบรื่น

ระบบเพื่อนคู่หูนี้ มี 2 สาระ คือ

1.) เพื่อนใน Year 7 จับคู่กับนักเรียนใหม่ในห้องนั้น

2.) หัวหน้านักเรียน Year 11 จับคู่กับนักเรียนYear 7

บทบาทของเพื่อคู่หูคือ:

• เป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีให้เพื่อน - ปฏิบัติตามระเบียบข้อบังคับของโรงเรียน - ช่วยเหลือเพื่อนคู่หูนี้ - มีความอดทนเป็นที่ตั้ง

การประชุมผู้ปกครองไทยประจำสัปดาห์ – Year 1 โดนครูซู

เมื่อวันที่ 8 กันยายน ทางกลุ่มผู้บริหารได้บรรยายให้ผู้ปกครองของนักเรียน Year 1 ฟังในเรื่องวิชาภาษาไทย ที่เป็นวิชาเลือก การสะกดคำ การจัดกลุ่มเด็กที่มีความสามารถใกล้เคียงกัน และนโยบายเรื่องการบ้าน ท่านผู้ปกครองที่ได้เข้าร่วมประชุมในวันนั้น สามารถเข้าใจถึงเป้าหมายของโรงเรียนและเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการศึกษาของนักเรียนด้วย

เด็กอนุบาล เรียนเรื่องส่วนต่างๆของร่างกาย และนักเรียนสามารถตัดและต่อภาพทากาวแปะบนกระดาษได้เอง เด็กได้แสดงผลงานของตนให้เพื่อนๆชมหน้าชั้น ครูให้เด็กบอกชื่อชิ้นส่วนต่างๆของร่างกายเป็นภาษาไทย

รายการนี้ เป็นโอกาสที่ดี สำหรับทั้งเด็กและผู้ใหญ่ ที่ร่างกายฟิตมากน้อยแตกต่างกันไป ที่จะได้ร่วมแข่งช่วงระยะทางสั้นๆ และ สนุกสนาน ทั้งยังมี แบบทีมผลัด ซึ่งผสมระหว่างนักวิ่ง 1คนและนักว่ายน้ำ 1 คน เป็นเช้าวันฝนตกที่น่าอัศจรรย์ใจมาก ทีมHeadStart Panthers แข่งได้เยี่ยมมาก
