Parenting Tip

Listed as one of The Watkins 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People in 2014, the writings of Mexican author Miguel Ángel Ruiz focus on Ancient Toltec teachings that are used to achieve happiness, peace, and love within one’s life by achieving the wisdom to do so.
Ruiz holds that if you do less than your best in life, you subject yourself to frustrations, self-judgment, guilt, and regrets. Just do your best in all circumstances in your life, he advises. It doesn’t matter if you are sick or tired, if you always do your best there is no way you can judge yourself. And if you don’t judge yourself there is no way you are going to suffer from guilt, blame, and regret. Always Do Your Best. It’s what we tell our children. It’s what our parents taught us. It’s what our teachers tell us to do. Always do your best, no more and no less.
Of course, doing your best doesn’t mean comparing yourself to other’s bests. Doing your best is comparing yourself to yourself. It’s really just between you and your conscience. You aren’t comparing yourself to your co-workers, other students, your friends. You aren’t comparing yourself to anyone. Doing your best simply means waking up each day, looking at the day before you, and doing your best at each activity.

Early Years Visits the Fire Station! by Anisa van der Laan, Early Years A Teacher
Early Years A and B have been learning about ‘Occupations’ and ‘Community Helpers’ for the past few weeks in school, so we took the students to visit the Fire Station in Phuket Town.
The fire Chief made an excellent display of what the fire fighters do. How they dress quickly, how they keep their engines clean and ready to go, and how they use the water hoses and nozzles to fight fires.
Then he let the children go for a ride (with a couple of Teachers of course) out onto the road and around the moobahn in the big fire truck.
They all learned so much and had so much fun!

5A Gets Their Hands Dirty by Heidi St. Hill , Year 5A Teacher** **In Humanities this term, the students have been learning about Environmental Education. We have been looking at renewable and nonrenewable resources, the difference between recyclable and trash and why it is so important to limit our waste as it ends up in landfills. Landfills are where we just bury our dirt in the ground and it can create harmful gases and toxins, which pollute our earth. Year 5 investigated how well Headstart really separates their non-recyclables from their recyclables. It was gross, but enlightening! I’m afraid we are not very good recyclers yet. Food and liquids are tossed into the trash, along with recyclable paper and non-recyclables. Make sure to use the correctly labelled bins when throwing something out, please!

เด็กนักเรียนชั้นเตรียมอนุบาล ต่างสนุกสนานกับการเล่านิทานเรื่องไดโนเสาร์ กับคุณครู Lisa
เด็กนักเรียนชั้น Early year ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมสถานีดับเพลิง
เด็กนักเรียนชั้น Early year A&B ได้เรียนในหัวข้อของการติดต่อสื่อสารขอความช่วยเหลือและต่อเนื่องมาด้วยการออกไปทัศนศึกษาเยี่ยมชมสถานีดับเพลิง เด็กๆได้ดูวิธีการดับไฟและการปฏิบัติตัวหากเกิดเหตุการณ์ไฟไหม้ขึ้น รวมทั้งวิธีการใช้น้ำดับไฟ หลังจากการสาธิตเสร็จสิ้น เจ้าหน้าที่ก็นำเด็กนั่งรถดับเพลิงเพื่อปฏิบัติหน้าที่ทันที่ ว้าว สนุกสุดสุด

นักเรียน Y5A ทำกิจกรรมมือเลอะหมดแล้ว
ในการเรียนเกี่ยวกับวิชาสังคมศึกษาในเทอมนี้นักเรียนใน Y5A ได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับหัวข้อเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อม เราให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการแยกขยะที่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้ได้ใหม่กับขยะที่ไม่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้ได้อีก เพื่อให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้ถึงความแตกต่างของสิ่งที่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้ได้อีกและความสำคัญในการแยกขยะและของเสีย ที่เตาเผาขยะเป็นที่ที่รวมขยะที่เราทิ้ง ที่ที่มีทั้งแก็สและของเสียที่มีผลกระทบต่อโลกของเรา เด็กนักเรียนจะได้รู้ว่าข้อดีของการแยกขยะ ซึ้งตอนนี้อย่างที่ทราบกันว่าที่โรงเรียนเรานักเรียนยังไม่สามารถแยกขยะได้ดีเท่าไหร่เพราะจากที่เห็นขยะที่เป็นอาหารและน้ำยังคงถูกทิ้งรวมกับถังขยะที่เป็นกระดาษรวมกันอยู่ อย่างไรก็ตาม ขอให้ดูป้ายให้ดีก่อนทิ้งขยะลงไปว่าคุณทิ้งขยะถูกที่ไหม
