Hello my name is Suzanne, but everyone calls me Suzi. I am the Homeroom Teacher for Early Years Yellow. I was born in London and graduated from The University of Arts with a degree in Design. I moved to Thailand in 2011, taught yoga and freelanced as a designer and writer. After the birth of my daughter in 2015 I started teaching kindergarten on an English programme at a school in Nakhon Si Thammarat, where my husband is from. I loved being part of a school environment and felt I had found my place. I returned to the UK in 2017 to gain more experience in Early Years provisions and completed my Level 3 Diploma in Early Education. I then secured a position at a Surrey Primary school, in the Reception year and completed my specialist Early Years Teacher Training qualification. I am enthusiastic for the children in my care to enjoy their early school experiences. I believe in positive relationships between home and school to ensure children develop in a nurturing environment where their interests are encouraged and their curiosity stimulated. I feel children learn best through play and being able to explore. As an Early Years teacher I want to guide a child's exploration, using valuable opportunities to encourage early Maths and English. I always en-courage positive social interactions and being kind to each other and I will often be found reading books and singing songs to the children in my class. I look forward to teaching at HeadStart and becoming part of a thriving school community as a teacher and a parent. I am glad to be back in Thailand for the culture, to see our extended family and the food, especially the spicy southern curries!
