Cambridge International A Level leads the way ————————————————-

Recent reforms announced by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) which regulates qualifications, exams and tests in England, show that the UK AS and A Level model is moving closer to the structure of our Cambridge International AS and A Level. This is great news as students at HeadStart will gain qualifications to help them gain places at leading universities worldwide

From September 2013, students taking UK AS and A Levels will only sit exams in June. Previously students were able to sit exams for parts of the course in January also – prompting concerns over how many times they sit and re-sit exams.

This is not an issue for Cambridge International AS and A Levels. The linear structure means that rather than being assessed in separate parts, students take their exams at the end of each year – freeing up more time for teaching and learning. We will continue to offer exam series for Cambridge International AS and A Level in November and June to meet the needs of our students. Our November and June exam series already require students to take all relevant exams in one go. We will continue to use the June series as the main examination period.

As well as the structure of UK A Level becoming more like ours, Cambridge International A Level was highlighted in an Ofqual report earlier in the year for its breadth and depth of subject content. It continues to help thousands of learners every year gain places at leading universities worldwide and compete for the best education and employment opportunities on a global stage.

Secondary Timetable changes ——————————-

we have updated and revised our timetables for secondary for music and ICT. Students in Key Stage 3 will now study 2 lessons of ICT and 1 lesson of music per week.

We currently offer ICT up to IGCSE level so we feel that this change is in the students’ best interests.

All parents whose visas expire this December will need to contact Khun Lek in the Visa office downstairs between the 3-21st of December, 2012.

ข่าวสารจากเคมบริดจ์

การปฏิรูปการศึกษาที่ประกาศล่าสุดจากสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการตรวจสอบคุณสมบัติและกฎระเบียบของเคมบริดจ์ ซึ่งควบคุมการทดสอบในประเทศอังกฤษแสดงให้เห็นว่า รูปแบบการสอบ AS Level และ A Level ของสหราชอาณาจักร กำลังถูกขับเคลื่อนสู่รูปแบบที่ใกล้เคียงกับการสอบในระดับสากล นั่นหมายความว่าเป็นข่าวดีสำหรับนักเรียนของเราในอนาคตที่จะสามารถเทียบวุฒิและเลือกเรียนมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำได้ทั่วโลก

ตั้งแต่กันยายน 2556 เป็นต้นไป นักศึกษาในสหราชอาณาจักรที่เรียนAS และ A level จะเข้าสอบในเดือนมิถุนายน ซึ่งก่อนหน้านี้นักเรียนในสหราชอาณาจักรต้องสอบวัดความรู้ในช่วงเดือนมกราคมด้วยเช่นกัน ซึ่งทำให้เกิดคำถามว่านักเรียนสอบวัดความรู้หลายครั้งจนเกินไปหรือไม่

การเปลี่ยนแปลงตารางเรียนระดับมัธยม

ทางโรงเรียนได้ปรับเปลี่ยนตารางเรียนเล็กน้อยในวิชาดนตรีและICT สำหรับนักเรียนในช่วงชั้น Key Stage 3 จะเรียนวิชา ICT 2 คาบ ต่อสัปดาห์ และวิชาดนตรี 1 คาบต่อสัปดาห์ ขณะนี้ทางโรงเรียนได้เปิดสอนวิชา ICT ไปจนถึงระดับ IGCSE เพราะฉะนั้นจึงขอปรับเปลี่ยนเพื่อความสนใจของนักเรียนเป็นหลัก
