Top CIE Award Earners **by Adam Drew, Academic Director** HeadStart is proud to be sending three top Cambridge International Examinations award winners to Bangkok on the 1st of December to the Presentation of Outstanding Cambridge Learners ceremony at the Ambassador Hotel.
We congratulate Elizaveta Kostikova, Chama Ezendam and Myriam Moeller for their impressive achievements.
This is the third most prestigious award that can be awarded to a student from CIE. We feel very proud to be able to have had three students in this category out of the approximately 60 awards that will be given out nationally for the June 2014 examination series.
Christmas Party Invitation by Miki Edouard, Events Manager We welcome you to the HeadStart Christmas Party that will take place on the 11th of December, 2014 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the school. This will be a lively event where families can mingle while enjoying a delicious buffet of food provided by the school and some lively performances by students and teachers alike.
We invite you to participate by bringing food to share with the HeadStart community. Tents and tables will be set up in the multi-purpose court where you can set up the food that you would like to contribute. Please contact Chef Pornthep regarding any set up or preparation details at [email protected] or by contacting him directly in the kitchen.
If you are interested in advertising at this event please contact Khun Patsy in the upstairs office for our sponsorship programme that will cover both this and the event advertised below.

‘Mr Scrooge Finds Christmas’ Drama Invitation by Miki Edouard, Events Manager We also would like to invite you to the school drama production called ‘Mr Scrooge Finds Christmas’ produced by the students and teachers. The show will be free of charge, open to the public and is scheduled to take place at Kan Eang 2 in Chalong on the 10th of December, 2014 from 6:00-7:00 pm.
We invite you to show your support for the great effort that the students have put into practicing for this performance by bringing flowers and gifts.
Casual Clothes Day Change This Friday at the all school assembly five lovely Year 2 students help to present the next Casual Clothes fund raiser. Well done Erica, Sophie, Kwan, Jenna and Ryan! Casual Clothes will be moved to the 28th of November and students are encouraged to give 50 Baht towards the Shark Guardians who are making a new book to raise awareness for this beautiful species who are often misunderstood.

Year 3B Makes Shadufs by Katja Clark, Year 3B teacher Year 3 engaging in some ‘Design and Technology’ while learning about the Ancient Egyptians. Here they are having fun making a Shaduf. A shaduf is an ancient Egyptian water lifting machine used to lift water from the River Nile.
Year 4A Geography by Claire Smyth, Year 4A teacher Year 4 made 3D maps as part of their geography unit. They used clay and paper to create it from scratch.
*Year 4 Visits Wat Chalong **by Kate Johnson, Year 4A teacher* Year 4 went to Wat Chalong today to have a look at the temple and learn about its history and traditions.
Year 5A Assembly by Heidi St. Hill, Year 5A teacher The students in 5A performed a short assembly on what they had been learning about in English. The unit on Greek myths had been so popular that the students decided they wanted to share it with the students of Headstart. Sharing facts about the Greek myths and even putting on a short skit based on the myth of Icarus, the boy who flew too close to the sun. They hoped everyone enjoyed it and learned something new.

Y11 meeting about the Sixth Form (Year 12-13) by Mark Goodman, Head of Secondary ** On the 19th of November, last Wednesday, all Year 11 students and parents were invited to a meeting with Mr Drew and Mr Goodman about the new Sixth Form Centre that will open in the new school in August 2015.
The current Y11 students will have the historic privilege of being the first Year 12 students in the brand new HeadStart school campus.
Being able to choose up to 4 subjects in which to specialize during Year 12, before further refining their studies in Year 13, will greatly enhance their applications to the world’s leading universities.

Tiger Sharks International Feeding Frenzy The following swimmers have been invited to the Tiger Sharks International Feeding Frenzy at Patana school in BKK on the 12-14 of December: **
U9 Football Friendlies by Tladi Small, Head of P.E. This is just to confirm the football frendlies on the school calender will take this Saturday at HeadStart as planned. The games will starts at 1.30 pm and will finish by 4.30pm.
HeadStart teams will field mixed ability teams. Everyone will play, an equal amount of game time is assured within reason (i.e. the goal keeper)

ศูนย์สอบนานาชาติCambridge จะจัดพิธีมอบรางวัลแก่นักเรียนยอดเยี่ยม ในวันที่ 1 ธันวาคม นี้ ที่โรงแรมแอมบาสเดอร์ ทางโรงเรียนมีความภาคภูมิใจที่ส่งนักเรียน 3 คนไปรับรับรางวัลยอดเยี่ยมนี้ คือ Elizaveta Kostikova, Chama Ezendam และ Myriam Moeller ในความสำเร็จครั้งนี้
นี่เป็นรางวัลอันทรงเกียรติที่สุดเป็นลำดับ 3 ที่ Cambridge มีการมอบให้นักเรียน โรงเรียนภูมิใจมากที่นักเรียนของเราชนะถึง 3 รางวัล จากทั้งหมดเกือบ 60 รางวัลทั่วประเทศไทย จากการวัดผลการสอบเมื่อเดือนมิถุนายน 2557 นี้

เมื่อวันศุกร์นี้ น้อง Erica, Sophie, Kwan, Jenna and Ryan จากชั้น Year 2 ที่มาช่วยโปรโมท องค์กรที่ เราจะช่วยเหลือ จากเงินรายได้ที่รับบริจาคของนักเรียนในวันแต่งตัวตามสบาย ซึ่งจะเลื่อนมาเป็นวันศุกร์ที่ 28 พฤศจิกายนนี้แทน โดยรณรงค์ให้นักเรียนที่แต่งกายตามสบายในวันนั้น ให้นำเงิน 50 บาท มาบริจาคเพื่อสมทบทุนเอาไปช่วยเหลือกลุ่มปกป้องเหล่าปลาฉลาม ที่ออกหนังสือเล่มใหม่เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจอันถูกต้อง เกี่ยวกับปลาฉลามซึ่งเป็นสัตว์ที่สวยงามนี้

เมื่อวันพุธที่ 19 พฤศจิกายน ที่ผ่านมานักเรียนในระดับชั้น Year 11 พร้อมกับผู้ปกครองได้เข้าร่วมประชุมกับ Mr Drew and Mr Goodman เกี่ยวกับการเรียนในระดับชั้น Year 12-13 ที่กำลังจะเปิดในเดือน สิงหาคม 2558 นักเรียนชั้น Year 11 ในปีการศึกษานี้จะมีสิทธิพิเศษที่จะได้เริ่มเรียน Year 12 ในโรงเรียนแห่งใหม่
สามารถเลือกเรียนได้ 4 วิชาเฉพาะในขณะที่เรียนในชั้น Year 12 ก่อนที่จะเข้าสู่การเรียนใน Year 13 ซึ่งจะช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพเพื่อเข้าสู่ระบบมหาวิทยาลัยในโลก
