| Staff Holidays |
The school will be closed for staff holidays starting on Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and will reopen on Monday 4 January 2021. If you require documents for your visa or other purposes, please be sure to have this organised well before our closing date.
| After School Programme (ASP) News |
We are pleased to present an improved selection of ASPs for Term 2. The full list of what is available can be found on the HeadStart website, or simply click here! Please take some time to look through the opportunities available with your child to see what options might be interesting to him/her.
The online booking will be open to parents and students from 16 December to 1 January.
→ Go to your School portal and click the tab that says
→ Free ASPs will be allocated according to random selection by our software programme. Fee paid ASPs will be designated as first come, first serve.
→ Be careful to not select ASPs in the same day/timeslot. i.e. Maths Booster on Tuesday from the Free list and Science Club on Tuesday from the Fee-paying list.
→ When selecting your choice, look for a small icon of gold coins on the Activity tab to see if this is a fee-paying ASP. Hover over the icon and you will see the fees.
→ Term 2 has either 11 or 12 weeks depending on the day of the week, all fee-paying ASPs have been carefully calculated to reflect the number of sessions in Term 2.
→ Boosters have been pre-enrolled and cannot be removed. If you have any questions about your child’s Boosters, please contact the Heads of Primary or Secondary.
→ If you are new to HeadStart and would like to join the Tennis, Dance, or LAMDA classes, please contact the Heads of these programmes directly to request a place.

You can expect ASPs to be enrolled on the 3rd of January. ASPs and Academies will start from the first day of Term 2, Tuesday 5 January. Invoices for fee paid ASPs will be sent out after 11 January.

What other way to start each weekend than with some fun football sessions where all boys and girls are welcome to come and learn new skills through fun football activities. | Welcome to the Moulin Rouge |
On the 9th and 10th of December, the CAPA Academy wowed us with a performance of ‘Welcome to the Moulin Rouge’. 66 students from Year 5 to Year 13 were involved in the singing, dancing, acting and playing in the live band. The audience could not take their eyes off our performers and they were met with a standing ovation. Well done to all our students and staff for pulling off another breathtaking performance. Of course, with any big production, there is a great deal of work that goes into making it a success. We would like to thank the producers of ‘Welcome to the Moulin Rouge” Ms Erika Cramp, Ms Fabienne Mester, and Ms Hayley Milner for the hours, days and months that they spent scripting, choreographing, coaching and directing the show. It is their passion for excellence, hard work and exceptional skills that have made this show a roaring success!
We would like to say a special thanks to the HeadStart parents who offered hours of their time and effort to help the show become a reality: Frederique Guillerey, Virginie Ducasse, Laure Perthuis, Dominique Minier, Maggie Riley and deputy teacher Airl Mindaro. Thank you for your support!

A further note of appreciation to the band that played virtually every song live, we had Jennifer Blackweir, our Academic Director (trumpet), Patrick Graham our Music teacher (keyboard and piano), Alex Homes our Music teacher (flute, saxophone, clarinet), Yuriy Demenko our after school Drum teacher (drums), Erika Cramp (piano, keyboard and accordion), Artem Kiselev, our first ever student to join the band (guitar), Maripet Porte our Music teacher (violin) and Irina Zadirako whose daughter recently graduated from HeadStart after studying here for 10 years (violin). Thank you to all who have lent your talent to this musical production!

Congratulations to all our 10 & Unders who competed against UWC on Wednesday, 9 December! This was the first meet for many of our swimmers and they did a fantastic job! I am very proud of all our athletes and I am looking forward to having more friendly competitions in Term 2. Have a spectacular holiday! -Coach Brown

BTEC Business, Travel and Tourism visited Chalong Bay Rum Distillery where they received an education talk from the sales team and events manager. They asked questions about the business and how it meets and exceeds the needs of customers through the use of customer service. The information they collated will help the students write a report, using the business as a case study for the units they are currently studying Exploring Business and Customer Service in Travel and Tourism. They ended the day with a tour of the distillery and a fun mocktail making session! -Ms Yardenna Jones, BTEC Coordinator
