Our Year 5 and 6 Mandarin First Language students have been learning through play this week by designing their own Chinese character UNO cards. Creating the cards requires students to accurately write and review the language, offering a practical way to reinforce their stroke order and vocabulary retention. Playing the game together then provides the perfect opportunity to make memorising these complex characters fun, interactive, and highly memorable, combining rigorous academic practice with collaborative learning.
