Hello, Bonjour & Sawasdee krup! It feels like only a few months ago that I was a HeadStart student, and now I’m incredibly honored to be back — this time as part of the support staff at HeadStart International School. As HeadStart’s first Head Boy in 2013, returning to HeadStart as the Marketing and Community Manager at the Chengtalay Campus feels particularly special.

Although I was born in Bangkok, my family and I have called Phuket home since 1996, making me a lifelong Phuketian. My younger brother, Enzo, is also an OG HeadStart student and a former Head Boy, from the days when the school was still housed on Koh Rang Hill in Phuket Town. I joined HeadStart in Year 11, when it was still the new international school across from the “only” Makro in Phuket, to study at one of just two IGCSE-accredited schools on the island at the time. After graduating, I moved to Bangkok to study at Chulalongkorn University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communication Management.

I eventually returned home to Phuket to start my own business. Then, a small force majeure event called COVID had other plans for me. I took the opportunity to explore different industries and careers, working on superyachts, fitness clubs, luxury equipment, and real estate. Looking back, all of these experiences seem to have led me down one road: back to HeadStart. With now the opportunity to contribute to a community that played such an important role in my own life, coming back to school almost feels inevitable.

Seeing how much the school has grown over the years makes me even more excited to be here — and I can’t wait to see where we go next and how much further we can grow together. I recently married my ex-fiancée-now-wife, Gun, and we’ve been part of the Northern Phuket community for more than four years. We’re very active, not necessarily very fit when it comes to sports, but we’re naturally outgoing people — so if you see us around, we’re easily identifiable with 2 toy poodles, Tom & Jerry.

I’m looking forward to a fantastic first year back at school and, most importantly, to getting to know more of the amazing people who make up the ever-growing HeadStart Community. Special deliveries have been arriving in Early Years as our Foundation learners bring the classic story "Dear Zoo" to life! During our current literacy topic, the children received a surprise visit from our resident postman, who delivered a mysterious, pre-decorated box straight to the classroom. Eager to see what the zoo had sent, students collaborated to unwrap the package and reveal a new animal inside. Through fun conversations about whether their new pet was too tall, too heavy, or too fierce, the children are putting descriptive vocabulary into practice, actively developing core communication skills and building a strong foundation for reading comprehension.

A whole lot of excitement! Year 3 travelled back in time as they met a real-life caveman and fired questions at him about Stone Age life. From finding food and facing daily challenges to discovering how he had fun, the children were fascinated by his answers! With lots of laughter, curiosity and enthusiastic questions, it was a fantastic way to bring our Stone Age learning to life!

We are delighted to congratulate our students on their significant achievements in recent Thai culture, sports, and performing arts competitions, representing HeadStart with pride on both local and international stages!

• Chertin (1 Blue), Sophia (3 Yellow), Skye (3 Yellow), Max (9 Blue), and Lara (9 Blue): Represented the school at the provincial-level Thai Etiquette Competition organized by Phuket City Municipality. Chertin competed in the Age Group 3–5 Years (Reception) category, Sophia and Skye in the Lower Primary Level, and Max and Lara in the Lower Secondary Level.
• Lea (3 Blue): Won a Gold medal at the Thailand Judo Cup in Khon Khen, organized by the Thailand Federation of Judo.
• Oscar (3 Blue): Achieved 2nd place in the U8 tennis competition at the Phuket Sports Competition.
• Raeyah (3 Yellow): Achieved the LAMDA Level 1 Award in Musical Theatre (Grade 1 - Solo), awarded by the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art.
• Rafael (7 Yellow): Awarded Best Athlete (Kyorugi) at the 13th Suratthani Taekwondo Championship 2026.
