Meet the Team
Introducing our new HeadStart Cherngtalay Secondary Team! Our teachers bring experience and a wealth of knowledge from all over the world, including the UK, France, USA, Russia, China, and of course, Thailand! Each of our teachers is a subject specialist in their chosen subject, ensuring our Key Stage 3 learners get the best possible education and learning experience. The beauty of the start of this academic year is that not only have our learners been through the transition from primary to secondary school, or from another school to a brand new school, but our teachers have experienced the same settling into our exciting new campus. This has given a shared learning and bonding experience for all. As we approach the end of our first half-term together in our new campus, we are happy to report we are all feeling settled and happy. We are flourishing together in our new environment, and what an environment it is! This photo was taken in our Learning Garden next to our brand new Science laboratory, where students are able to learn about Science, food, nature, and how they are all interlinked. We continue to look forward to an exciting year ahead!

PE & Sports News
U11 Boys Fixtures
Our Cherngtalay U11 Boys have had a busy start to the year hosting two teams over the past week for friendly fixtures. Over the weekend, we welcomed BangJo Academy for an exciting friendly fixture. At the start of this week, UWC paid us at visit at home.
There were a lot of positives to take from both games and the boys showed grit and determination throughout the fixtures against some tough opponents. We are looking to build on these performances as we prepare the team for up and coming matches and tournaments – Well done boys!
U9 Boys and U13 Girls in Action
This week, the HeadStart Cherngtalay Panthers U9 Boys and U13 Girls welcomed the HeadStart Chaofah City Panthers U11 Girls team from down south for a friendly round robin fixture. It was a fantastic opportunity for teams from both campuses to experience playing against new teams in a friendly but competitive environment. Well done to all involved Coach Paul – Football Coach

Exploring Gendered Nouns in Year 7 French
After discovering last week that nouns have genders (masculine/feminine) in French, the Year 7 French language students have now discovered that countries also have genders too! Yes, you heard it right, there are masculine countries, and feminine countries and no, it doesn’t make much sense. Through a collaborative matching activity, our intrepid learners embraced the oddities of the French language and reinforced together their understanding of this new concept. It was also the opportunity for the group to open a discussion regarding French-speaking countries around the world! Bravo à tous!

Year 5 Thai Language Class Discovering the Benefits of Thai Herbs!
This week, our Year 5 Thai 1st language students explored the incredible world of Thai herbs. They learned how these natural remedies can be used to treat illnesses and discovered the many health benefits that herbs offer. Kru Way – Thai Teacher
Year 6 Thai Class Exploring Colourful Cloth
In our Year 6 Thai class, we explored Thai vocabulary related to colours and cloth through the vibrant hues of Thai fruits and vegetables. Students engaged in a hands-on activity, applying these colours in paintings that incorporated Thai sentences about cloth. This interactive approach not only deepens their understanding of vocabulary but also fosters creativity as students express their ideas visually. Furthermore, it encourages collaboration as they work together, sharing insights and techniques. Kru Saimaii – Thai Teacher

It All Adds Up in Year 5 Yellow
In maths lessons, Year 5 Yellow have been working hard on addition. They used place value grids and counters to show what happens when an exchange is needed. Working practically first really helped to understand what happens in each place value column so students can then become more efficient when solving problems using the written method. Great maths, Year 5! Mrs Williams – Year 5 Teacher
