Meetings & Presentations

UPrep Talk: Applying to the UK and the Netherlands on 30.04.25 at Chaofah City campus

It was great to be joined by so many parents at our latest UPrep Talk – a session by parents for parents – in which we were privileged to hear from Mr. Jazon Edouard, our School Founder and CEO, and parent of HeadStart graduates who studied in both the Netherlands and the UK, and Mr. Maksim Radzkov, whose daughter studied at The University of Twente and Eindhoven Technical University. Both guest speakers offered honest, practical advice on a range of issues from supporting their child’s transition to living and studying in the Netherlands and the UK to common challenges and how to overcome them. We are sincerely grateful to Mr. Edouard and Mr. Radzkov for sharing these insights.

Next Wednesday 7th May, we will hold our latest UPrep Drop-in session at Nakita’s Cafe (Chaofah City campus branch) from 8:30-9:30 so please come and join us then. University Offers

Chayatip Phucharoen – Enrolled at HeadStart since Preschool

We are excited to share that Sabai has received multiple offers to study Law, at all of the prestigious universities that she applied to. Since joining HeadStart in 2009, Sabai has been an outstanding student, demonstrating strong leadership and dedication. As a Prefect and an active member of the Student Council, she has contributed significantly to school life, fostering a supportive and engaged student community. Her passion for education and giving back to others was also evident through her participation in an English teaching camp for Thai school students, where she helped empower young learners. Congratulations, Sabai! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next!

Wuttiphat Puechpong – Enrolled at HeadStart since Year 7

We are proud to celebrate Ardip, who has received offers from both Bangkok University and Rangsit University. Wuttiphat has chosen to continue his academic journey at Rangsit University, where he will study a BA in Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports. Throughout his time at school, Wuttiphat has been a vibrant and passionate member of the orchestra, showcasing his talents at every major event including the Battle of the Bands, Christmas Show, CAPA Expo, and numerous fundraising events. His enthusiasm, dedication, and love for performance have left a lasting impact on our community. We are excited to see all that Wuttiphat will achieve in this next chapter of his journey!

Why I Love HeadStart

PJ (5 Blue Chaofah City campus) – Enrolled at HeadStart since Year 4

PJ is a very polite and happy student who loves learning about the world and its history in both science and humanities lessons. He has a special enthusiasm for Greek myths and enjoys sharing this knowledge with his classmates and teachers! Why does PJ love HeadStart?

Prom 2025

On Friday 25th April, Prom was celebrated by almost 400 Secondary students from across both HeadStart campuses. With the theme of “007”, Prom-goers were licensed to thrill in their magnificent outfits and a fun time was had by all. As is traditional, the event was organized and led by Deputy Head Boy, Conor, Deputy Head Girl, Seungha, and the Year 12 Senior Prefects (Nanki, Mali, Susanna and Petr). They did a fantastic job of first decorating the venue in creative James Bond-themed paraphernalia and then getting the Prom crowd going with games and activities while DJ Al provided a musical backdrop to fit the occasion. Congratulations to Fura and Krit for being crowned Prom Queen and King for 2025! Sincere thanks to all teachers and staff who supported the event, making sure this year’s Prom was both a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

House Update

Yellow Cheetahs Still Out in Front…Just! in the Term 2 & 3 House Competition

With just a few weeks left of the House point season, the Yellow Cheetahs continue to pick up House points across a range of activities, proving that the race for the Term 2 & 3 prize is a marathon, not a sprint! Hot on their heels though are the Red Phoenixes and Blue Tigers, with the Green Dragons also within touching distance! Now is the time to up your game and maximise your House point scoring to reach the goal—the end of year House Prize! Ms Thompson – House Coordinator

For the first week back after the Songkran break, Primary students had lots of fun by playing a giant game of “What’s the Time Mr. Wolf?” on the Astro on Tuesday lunchtime. Students showed determination and resilience during this game, and the House Captains demonstrated great leadership skills.

The Secondary House Activity was an obstacle course where students had to complete a range of different activities to win points for their House. Each student had to first balance a table tennis ball on a bat and walk forwards and backwards with it (which was a real challenge with the big fans in the Sports Hall!); they then had to throw a tennis ball into a bucket without it bouncing out, then they had to hula hoop, and finally skip using a skipping rope, before running back to their House. We followed this with some basketball free throws. All students had so much fun, and we certainly have some very competitive students! Overall, the Red Phoenixes came out on top!

PE & Sports News

PISAC Badminton Tournament

HeadStart Cherngtalay campus proudly hosted this year’s PISAC Badminton Tournament, welcoming strong competition from BCIS, KIS, and UWC. The level of play was fierce, with athletes displaying impressive skill and sportsmanship throughout the event. HeadStart delivered an outstanding performance, placing in the top 3 overall. A special congratulations goes to Ton, who advanced deep into the boys’ singles bracket with determination and skill.

Huge thanks to Coach Paul and Mr Martin for their excellent organisation and leadership in making the tournament a success. We also applaud our dedicated players – Valentina, Mila, Ashley, Nancy, Ton, Mingbo, Carson, and Turbo – for representing HeadStart with pride. Well done to everyone involved! The PE Team

Thai Parent Guest Speaker – Sharing an Exciting Tale with Early Years

A big thank you to Ms Juthamas Kumban (Lexi’s mum) for being our special guest and reading a delightful Thai story to our Early Years class!

She read “แม่ไก่กับเมล็ดข้าวสาลี” (A Hen and The Wheat), a fun and exciting tale that the children really enjoyed. The students had the chance to engage with the story by becoming the characters, making it an even more interactive and memorable experience. It was a wonderful way for our little ones to learn more about the Thai language and culture.

Thank you, Ms Juthamas, for sharing your time and for making storytime so special for the children!

Thai Parent Guest Speaker – Year 4 Weave Traditional Thai Coconut Leaf Toys

A heartfelt thank you to Khun Prakaidao Hodges (Katie’s mum) and Khun Nattawara Jantarakidakan (Anpun’s mum) for joining us as our special Thai Parent Guest Speakers.

They kindly taught our Y4 students how to weave a traditional Thai fish toy using coconut leaves — once a cherished childhood toy and now often used as a decorative hanging mobile in Thai homes.

It was a valuable hands-on experience that enabled our students to engage with Thai culture and traditions in a meaningful and memorable way. 🐟🌴

Thank you once again for your generous support and for helping to enrich our students’ learning journey.

Foundation

Toddler Playgroup

Our first session back was full of energy, laughter, and plenty of mess—just the way we like it! The children were raring to go, diving into all the activities with big smiles and curious hands. From paint and playdough to sensory trays and songs, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s been truly heartwarming to see how much our little ones have grown. Some of the children who weren’t even walking when they first joined us are now confidently running around, exploring the space and playing with all the resources. It’s a real privilege to be part of their journey and to witness these important milestones.

Thank you to all the families who joined us—we loved having you there and can’t wait to welcome you back next week for more fun, learning, and connection. Ms Walker – Deputy Head of Foundation
