Cherngtalay Parent Committee Term 3 Meeting

On Wednesday, 27th May 2026, the HeadStart Cherngtalay Parent Committee held their Term 3 meeting with the school’s management team. We are grateful to our parent members for their contributions and for working with us for the betterment of our school and its wider community. Yearbook and Photo Package Release Date and Time

We invite families to come and collect their free copy of the 2025-2026 Yearbook from Monday, 22 June starting at 15:20 in the main atrium beside the Admin office.

Families who ordered photo packages for their children will also be able to collect these along with any additional copies of the Yearbook they ordered. Plese be informed that you must present valid parent ID (i.e. HeadStart Parent ID, passport) to collect your children’s photos. Photo packages will only be given to registered parents of the child.

A Friendly Reminder About Lost Belongings

Replacing lost items can be frustrating, so we encourage all parents and students to regularly check our designated lost property areas for any missing belongings. Valuable items, such as watches, electronic devices, and keys, are securely held at the Administration Office. Meanwhile, general everyday items, including water bottles, P.E. kits, and school uniforms, are safely kept in a locker at the First Aid Room. If you are missing an item, please visit the relevant office and provide a specific description so our team can help reunite you with your lost property. To keep our storage manageable and support those in need, any general items left unclaimed are donated to local charities at the end of each month.

Pawndemonium: 3rd Junior Rapid Chess Tournament

Students are invited to test their strategic skills one last time this academic year at the Pawndemonium Junior Rapid Chess Tournament. Join us on 20 June for the final rapid chess competition of the season. It is a fantastic opportunity for young players to challenge themselves, compete against their peers, and celebrate their progress on the board. Please refer to the attached poster for all tournament details and registration information.

Year 6 Graduation Ceremony

We cordially invite our Year 6 Students and their families to our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony. This is a wonderful chance to celebrate our Year 6 students as they transition from Primary to Secondary school. Join us in celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of our students. We look forward to sharing this memorable occasion with all of you.

Shira Nagar - Enrolled at HeadStart since Year 10

Congratulations to Shira Nagar, who has successfully secured an offer to study Psychology at Lingnan University in Hong Kong, with further decisions pending from other prestigious institutions! Enrolled since Year 10, Shira has proven her academic versatility by earning multiple Student of the Month awards in Mathematics, Business, and Psychology. She has actively cultivated her passion for the performing arts through voice and guitar lessons, school choir, CAPA performances, and LAMDA. A dedicated leader, Shira served on the Student Council for three consecutive years and supported her community through beach clean-ups, the 24 Hour Race, and the Sunny Side Up English language programme.

Minghao Li (Leo) - Enrolled at HeadStart since Year 7

We also proudly commend Minghao Li (Leo), who is taking his impressive extracurricular portfolio to the next level by applying to study Business and Commerce at Monash University Malaysia, alongside exploring programmes in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and Economics at Universiti Malaya! Joining HeadStart in Year 7, Leo pairs his academic focus with independent involvement in stock trading and financial markets. He has built an impressive portfolio, completing his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver expeditions while participating in swimming, chess, diving, golf, tennis, badminton, drumming, and fishing. He has consistently demonstrated responsibility as a school prefect, summer camp leader, and volunteer for local beach clean-ups.

Bogdan Polekhin - Enrolled at HeadStart since Year 4

Congratulations to Bogdan Polekhin, who is pursuing Computer Science and related technology programmes with applications submitted to City University of Hong Kong, Tiangong University, Yangtze University, and Jiangzhu University! Enrolled since Year 4, Bogdan excels in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, with a strong focus on coding, cybersecurity, and machine learning. He applies his technical skills practically through web design projects for Sunny Side Up and Token for Moken, alongside accounting and real estate internships. Beyond technology, Bogdan has studied Chinese, played Dungeons & Dragons, served five years on the Student Council, and regularly contributed to CAPA productions, famously playing the psychopathic dentist in Little Shop of Horrors.

Julie Imura - Enrolled at HeadStart since Year 10

We also proudly commend Julie Imura, who is applying to Sophia University to study Liberal Arts, bringing together her interests in politics, philosophy, economics, and global culture! A valued HeadStart student since 2022, Julie’s academic curiosity earned her the Humanities Student of the Month award in 2024. She maintains an incredibly diverse extracurricular portfolio, participating in gymnastics, swimming, football, Japanese taiko drumming, and CAPA productions, including a lead role in Little Shop of Horrors. Demonstrating remarkable leadership and initiative, Julie co-founded the “Tides for Tomorrow” beach clean initiative, serves as a Prefect and House Captain, and actively contributes to a YouTube project inspiring Japanese students to study abroad.

Final Friday Market

Wrapping up the academic year with a vibrant community gathering, our final Friday Market brought students, parents, and staff together for a relaxed afternoon of connection. Families supported our local vendors while exploring an impressive selection of stalls, picking up everything from fresh gelato and baked goods to handcrafted ceramics and unique accessories. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the end of a busy week!

Navigating Results Day Together

Results day is almost here! It is a great moment to celebrate our students’ hard work and remember that success looks different for everyone. Because they care so much about their learning, it is totally normal for the whole family to feel a mix of nerves and excitement right now. Our shared goal is simply to make sure every child feels valued and ready for whatever news is in that envelope.

The best way we can help is by keeping things calm. Have a chat with your children early on to remind them that you are proud of who they are, regardless of the grades. On the day itself, simply being a steady, listening ear works wonders. Once the initial reactions settle, take time to celebrate their resilience and kindness. Exams are just one small part of their journey, and we are right here to help them move forward feeling confident, supported, and excited for what comes next.

Celebrating Our Champions: Sports Awards Ceremony and Community BBQ Recap

What an incredible afternoon we had on 15 June, celebrating the phenomenal talent, dedication, and sportsmanship of our student-athletes! The energy in the room was electric as students, coaches, and families gathered to look back on a remarkable season of growth, teamwork, and hard-fought victories.

This year, our athletes truly raised the bar. We shine a special spotlight on the outstanding achievements across our three core sports academies. The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the award trophies, honouring individuals who demonstrated exceptional growth this year through the “Most Improved Award”. The “Coaches Award” recognised the most valuable athletes, and the “Academy Star Award”, voted for by players and coaches, was given to students who truly represented what it means to be a Panther. Congratulations to all of our trophy winners; your hard work has truly paid off!

After the formal trophies were handed out, the celebration moved outside for our Community BBQ. It was the perfect way to wrap up the afternoon, filled with great food, plenty of laughs, and a wonderful sense of community. A huge thank you to our incredible coaches for their tireless dedication, the parents for their endless sideline support, and most importantly, our athletes for inspiring us all season long. You represent HeadStart with pride!

Panthers Celebrate a Triumphant Year of Football Growth

The HeadStart Panthers Cherngtalay Football Academy teams officially brought their season to a thrilling close, ending the year with an absolute bang. A massive thank you and a well-deserved congratulations go out to all the talented players, dedicated coaches, and supportive families who made our final week of football so memorable.

The U11 Panthers Cup

The excitement kicked off with the highly anticipated U11 Panthers Cup. It was a fantastic competitive showcase as we welcomed the U11 players from the Chaofah City Campus, who travelled over to Cherngtalay Campus. This was a wonderful opportunity for players in both schools to make new friendships and play in a friendly yet competitive environment.

The End of Year Football Festival

Later in the week, the celebration of our season continued with our Football Festival, an event completely dedicated to our amazing academy community. The highlight of the festival was undoubtedly where our academy players got the unique chance to test their skills against teams made up of enthusiastic Mums, Dads, and staff members. Lacing up their boots to join in on the fun, the parents and teachers brought immense spirit to the pitch, wrapping up a phenomenal year of growth, teamwork, and success on the highest note possible.

Once Upon a Dance

On Saturday 13th June, our stage came to life as we stepped into a magical world of storytelling through movement in our annual recital, Once Upon a Dance. We were incredibly proud to showcase 120 talented students from both campuses, each bringing energy, creativity, and dedication to the stage. From enchanting fairy tales to powerful performances, every piece reflected the hard work and passion our dancers have shown throughout the year.

A heartfelt thank you to our students for their commitment, our teachers for their guidance, and our families for their continued support. It was truly an unforgettable afternoon celebrating not just dance, but imagination, growth, and community. Early Years Dancers Steal the Spotlight with Huge Smiles

Lighting up the stage with brilliant energy, our youngest learners recently delivered a fantastic showcase of their dancing skills! It has been incredibly rewarding to watch these students step into the spotlight and share their hard work, coordination, and rhythm across a variety of styles.

Tiny Tots Dance and Play

Captivating the audience from their very first step, our Tiny Tots showed off how well they could move around the stage together. Using the playful track “Shake Your Sillies Out”, they kept up brilliantly with the fast and slow music, showing massive effort as they held their funniest poses when it was time to “freeze” before bursting back into dance!

Early Years and Recreational Ballet

Showcasing a beautiful introduction to ballet, students practised pliés, rises, and tendus with growing grace. They did a brilliant job learning to balance on one leg or even on their tiptoes. To build leg strength and engage their creativity, the class also included big jumping exercises alongside imaginative role-play, allowing students to express themselves as different animals.

Early Years and Recreational Jazz and Hip Hop

Bringing fantastic energy to the stage, students tackled the rhythm and bounce needed for these routines. The Jazz segments highlighted fun arm movements and jumps, while the Hip Hop performances introduced floor work and confident use of the stage. Students also put tremendous effort into using cheeky facial expressions to show off their characters, resulting in a highly entertaining showcase! - Kru Orm, Dance Coach

Sustainable Design Across the School

Making excellent use of shared school resources, Year 4 students transformed leftover wood from Secondary Design & Technology lessons into unique, student-led designs. This sustainable approach provided a hands-on conclusion to their final Art lessons, allowing younger students to upcycle materials and build creative projects of their own choice.

Over in the Design & Technology workshops, older students finalised term projects using specialist equipment. Year 7 completed Kandinsky-inspired clocks, refining skills with coping saws, drills, files, rasps, and sanding machines. Year 8 built Plinko boards and used snips to cut sheet metal for epoxy resin keyrings, while Year 9 designed educational toys using pillar drills and scroll saws. Across all projects, students proved themselves to be highly Creative and Resilient, gaining significant confidence in workshop safety and material manipulation. - Miss Leow

Year 7 to 9 Community Storytelling Project

As part of the ‘Building Language Through Volunteer Spirit’ project, Year 7 to 9 students brought stories to life by organising engaging storytelling activities for the children at Srisoonthorn Kindergarten School. They worked hard to rehearse their drama performance and prepared mini-book activities and educational English games for the younger children. Through this experience, students demonstrated creativity, teamwork, responsibility, and a strong sense of community while fostering a love of language learning. - Kru Saimai, Librarian

We are delighted to congratulate our students on their significant achievements in recent sports competitions and volunteer initiatives, representing HeadStart with pride on both local and international stages!

• Lea (2 Yellow),Lev (2 Blue), andSagit (7 Blue) for their fantastic results at the International Judo Championship in Indonesia. Lea won Silver in the -28kg category, Lev secured a Silver medal in the -24kg category, and Sagit proudly brought home both Silver and Bronze medals!

• Eoin (2 White),Vanessa (1 Blue),Mailin (4 Yellow),Lochy (4 Blue),Finian (6 White),Marko (3 Yellow),Amelia (6 Yellow),Cal (5 Yellow),Jonty (5 Blue), andLev (2 Blue) for participating in the Laguna Marathon 2km run. A special mention to Eoin for winning Gold, Mailin and Vanessa for placing 2nd, and Lochy and Finian for taking Bronze/3rd place!

• Rafael (6 White) for an outstanding performance at the Suratthani Open 1st Phutawan Taekwondo Championship, winning 2 Golds, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze in the Speed Punch U11-12 category.

• Gosha (5 White) for reaching the semifinals at the ALM x Impact Junior Tennis Championships in Bangkok.
